If im making normal data or music cd's/dvd's then ill use windows 7 built in fetures.
If i need to burn an iso or simler file i will use the free version of nero 7 that came with my drive.

As was already posted give IMGBurn a try.

cd burner xp did not even recognize my ASUS drive!
Any other recs - seems like the win 7 and IMG burn seem to be the consensus.

Damn Ashampoo. They've been spamming my email inbox heavy since I unsubscribed from them.

Another vote for Windows Media Player's built in one. I didn't think IMGBurn was any good at burning audio CD's? Haven't tried in a while.

Usually all I burn anymore is Mp3 CDs for my car...
I have been using the native W7 program. Seems very anemic on the features and not very user friendly.

My personal favorites are Ashampoo Burning Studio Free and BurnAware. These two are free, powerful and easy to use with very simple interface. Though Ashampoo refused to work on my Win7 SP1 system so i switched to BurnAware.
