Black Ice Pro III or Swiftech MCR320
Yeah, it's getting that time of year again. Usually do a watercooling loop at near end of summer. Question for you guys though hich i may have answered myself:
Which one would be better from a noise/db standpoint (although noise doesn't bother me to an extent)? I think the mcr320 would be better due to it's lower FPI count just wanted some insight. Or if anyone could point me a 120 triple that would work out better ..... As always, TPU rocks!

Both seem about equal.
On my preference, I would run with DD for the RAD. They have been doing RADs for a very long time and have a good running history with flow and performance.

IMO lower FPI counts allow better use of lower rpm fans, which can imply overall quieter systems.
Have you checked out MagiCool? Decent adversary.

The rasa kit is sweet, but has a an Achilles heel to it ... the pump. Out of kits on the market today, the rasa kit has more know pump failures than most. The good thing is, XSPC honors the warranty very well for the pump, however, once the pump is beyond warranty, you are on your own. Also, the rasa pump is weaker than the weakest DDC-1 Laing pump.
Don;t get me wrong though, the RAD and block(s) are superior! The RES holds ample fluid too. If the pump ever goes, well, look for a DDC to mount near it or to get a DDC with a RES top to mount elsewhere.

I run my system 24/7 folding, gaming, media....
I just recently changed my coolant and only as it was low and I wanted too. I still get awesome temps while overclocked and running hard.

Alright well i guess it's decided then. I will go the Rasa kit picking up an MCR320 after a while.
Thanks guys! ![]() EDIT: If the bay pump were to eventually break down, can I still use it as a res? |

Thanks!
![]() Now as far as GPU goes, I am sticking with the GTX460 for quite a bit longer. I have an MCW60 Gpu block downstairs in a box full of extra parts. Anyone know what i would need to get that mounted properly? |

Eventually was looking at switching back cases to my rocketfish after a mod to it so it can allow both triple rads internally. |

just as an fyi, I have a black Ice pro 3 and it is likely a worse performer than the 320, I think the 320 is a between the pro 3 and the black ice xtreme 3 performance.
the 320 is 30% thicker than the black ice pro 3. if anyone cared the xtreme 3 is 36% thicker than the swiftech 320 and 77% thicker than the pro 3. based o the fact they cost the same, the above posters recomedned correctly, you get more radiator for your money. |
