ati radeon hd 4870x2 2gig ddr5

hi, i am new in this forum and would like to say hello to everyone.
i have a ati radeon hd 4870x2 2gig of ram but when i go into gpuz it says 1024 memory on the graphics card also when i use catalyst control centre its say 1024 or ram is this right or has one gone down please could you help thanks in advance

Hey there mate, welcome to TPU home of the hardware spartans....
we are generally friendly, just watch out for themailman, he is our resident troll (but a friendly troll at that)
that card has 1024mb allocated to each GPU, so 1024x2=2048mb
if you are still unsure upload a screenshot to techpowerup.org and post the link here i can verify anything for you

System Specs

correct the 4870x2 is a DUAL GPU card, they market the specs together but in reality its just 2 4870s in crossfire on a stick as such

it might say 1600 shaders and 2048mb of memory etc but in reality

its 800 shaders and 1024mb of memory per gpu on the PCB, your system is listing the specs properly,

99% of the time marketing is lies and the system tools are right

Welcome to TPU!

Your card has 1GB per GPU, but since contents of the memory are mirrored between both GPUs, your card effectively presents 1GB of RAM to the driver.
