Bulldozer mobo upgrade help

Im upgrading to the FX BD cpu. Atm I'm using a Crosshair IV Formula for my 1090T chip.
These are the mobo's Im interested in.

Crosshair V Formula

Sabertooth 990FX

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 Amd 990FX

First off Im not a Two gpu kinda guy. I always run Dual on die Video cards so the pci-e x 16 and x8 slots dont bother me.
Id like some input on the mobo you guys think I should buy. I already have the cash to order but Id like to go with what you all recommend.

Cheap but the best clocking potential. You often see top world clockers using slightly cheaper boards that clock like mad.

I am getting the Crosshair V myself, but I would get the Sabertooth before the Gigabyte. It's all about the UEFI to me, and the ROG features slightly edge out the Sabertooth.

Just my 2 cents.

Get the cheapest board out of those 3. Every 1 of those are very good clockers. It just all depends on how many and what kind of features are important to you. But if overclocking is the only important thing to you, definitely get the Sabertooth so you can save yourself some money.

What he said. If BD is worthwhile, I am DEFINITELY getting either that extreme4 or the fatality branded board. Very feature-rich and has a good phase power delivery system for all your overclocking needs

What he said, I have one, it's tough as nails. It just takes what ever I throw at it. It's really resistant to static shocks. I had my case empty for a few months and it apparently built up a lot of static, and i booted up, failed, did it again. Then cleared the case and it works fine. 2 months today I've had it.

Also why are you shopping at NCIX? their stuff is a rip off

the UD5 is a decent board and the price is hard to beat atm....
Canada Computers had it on sale as well but I think NCIX is still cheaper unless you can pick it up local.

it's what I got for Bulldozer,

I say wait for more reviews and see which one is giving the most overclocking potential, then get that one. I say this because you mentioned it above in one of your post. Best OC is going to be Asus and GIGABYTE followed by MSI and ASRock. Just avoid Biostar and ECS and you should be good.

I love the colour scheam of the gigabyte board. The sabertooth has some neat features but the Crosshair V takes the cake as they say. It's just I had the CH3 CH4 and Im thinking I want to expand my options..

I also was looking to that board to my future upgrade, since its cheaper than the Asus ones. But i read in some review that AMD Overdrive was not working quite good on it, plus i fear overclocking potencial because i never went with Asrock for OC and some boards died on me back in 775 era...

That was awhile ago though. Back when they were somehow part off (hear-say) Asus. Since then their bios team has become even stronger.

correct Asrock is now its own company now, they have there own design teams etc

they actually took in some of EVGA and Gigabytes design teams and engineers

who uses AMD overdrive to overclock the CPU, if you overclock you do it in the god damn bios,

The Crosshair V is better. Better electronics, better sound, better power delivery, better support, prompt bios updates when needed, better UEFI.

Nice to hear that! More competition is always good. I had good image over EVGA with in past gen CPU's with SR-2, a masterpiece of engineering there.

I dont think in OC'ing via AMD Overdrive, was just pointing some issues, as the UEFI interface being a bit laggy and the voltage regulator was not that accurate.

CH V looks very solid to me, and damn... an extra 4pin CPU Power connector can drive someone to try some crazy stuff @ LN2
A bit overkill for me

btw... the sound maybe is just another gimmick. I read over Guru3d and they say the CH V uses the same codec as the Fatality, the Realtek 892. If you'r going for it with the sound in mind, dont get too excited
