You interested in a free (legit) copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare?

Due to a fair amount of interest for CoD4, I've gone ahead and done the competition and even upgraded it to give away Modern Warfare 3 as well. That thread supercedes this one.

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=151808

ORIGINAL POST:

If I get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 direct from Steam, I get a free copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which I can give away in a TPU competition.

However, this will cost me £40. For £35, I can get MW3 on disc from Amazon, but it won't have CoD4.

Before I splash out extra money, I'd like to know if you guys and girls would be interested in having CoD4, old as it is, so please vote in my poll.

I've never played it so I would love it, but I would fully understand if you wanted to save $5 on something you would just give away. Either way, thanks for entertaining the thought. That is really generous of you.

I would like a copy Qubit as paying £19.99 (currently £9.99) is essentially still far too much for a game that practically the world completed in the year it was released (2007!!) However for a fun and smooth multiplayer experience it is still worth having.

(I actually do like the campaign as well hee hee)

Only if it was a physical copy. Since it's Steam, na thanks
Qubit when you make polls, is there an option to make it "private" so users can't see who voted for what? I've never made a poll

Yeah, that's a shame, because I only ever do Steam or DRM-free nowadays. I remember our discussion a while back on this point, so fair enough.

Polls actually default to private, but I usually like to see who voted for what, so make them public. Just makes it more interesting and fun I think and the polls aren't about anything serious or controversial. If they were, I'd make them private. I'm not sure that even an admin can see who voted in a private poll.

Anyway, hurry up and make that poll! Do it on GN if you can't think of anything techy to make a poll about. You could make a poll about making them private or public and make it public, perhaps?

-----------------------------

And anyway, it looks like my little competition will be worth doing. It's roughly a 50/50 split so far, but there's still a lot of interest - not bad for a four year old game that many people already have. Thanks for your votes and keep them coming!

It is not my fault that I can't get "legit" games in my country...but with your help I can always have MW since I like the saga and it would be my second genuine game(after Dirt3 which I got with my GFX)since I started gaming....(12 years ago)

Yeah, Albania's a dodgy place indeed. A lot of the spammers for fake pills and so on come from there.

But surely, with your Steam account, it neatly sidesteps this problem?

I didn't know about the spammers but u can get a copy of win 7 ULTIMATE here for 4€!!!!!Games are the same...or u can just dl them yourself!!!I really liked Crysis 2 MP so I wanted to buy it(despite graphics,AI etc etc)but I couldn't find a wayso I settled for a couple of time with FEAR Combat and now just A.V.A. + some Dirt 3(not many people online though)
I opened my steam account just to try America's Army but didn't liked it much...too slow,I prefer fast paced shooters...
Anyway thx for considering

Make a poll about polls! I like it!
I thought that if you set the poll to private then you could still see who voted, but the voters can't. Now I see that's not the case.

I've bought from http://www.thegamecollection.net/ before, they do Free Delivery in UK, but they also ship to Europe at a flat cost of just £4 (for a game - more for hardware).

No, just a bank account AFAIK. May depend on the country you're in though.

nope. you just need a bank account.

:EDIT:

though a bank card is handy if you run into problems with 'verifying' your bank account with paypal.

I cant transfer money to or from my paypal account but my bank card is tied into paypal so paypal can use my card to pay for stuff when i dont have any funds in my PP account (how stupid is that??)

I havent been able to verify my account with paypal since 2005 lol. emailed support to try and fix the issue, but their all c*nts and as useful as a chocolate teapot.

I do too. We've got many good people here on TPU. Not only that give items away, but also that give freely of their time to help others.

Of course, asking if someone wants a free game is a little silly.
You could offer a dried-up, old turd and someone would take it because it's free.
