Getting a new laptop... questions
hey guys, i remember a year or two ago when you could buy a new computer and send the cd key back to the manufacturer or was it microsoft?.... and they would give you, say... $100 back.
does anyone know who to contact about that? also, does anyone know how to get a truly custom laptop? i dont want it to come with a hard drive or ram or OS if possible. what i want is: 15-17" screen i5 2410m 8gb ddr3(have already) 500gb seagate momentusXT(already have) and it would be cool if it had: keypad dual hard drive option decent gpu i like dells and hp's. lenovos are nice too but pricey. any thoughts? EDIT: price range is $450-650 Last edited by Fitseries3; Sep 11, 2011 at 11:05 PM. |

You looked at Clevo's?
malibal.com xoticpc.com malibal's customer support is one of the best I have dealt with. If you call them they may be able to work something out with you. They have exactly the specs you are looking for, as far as shipping it without ram or hdd, you'll have to contact them. |

The more higher end MSI notebooks has i5-i7 with dual hard drive solution.

Thats the best, "barebone" laptop you can get... either then that it may take a bit scourging to do.
