POLL: Following the Bulldozer release are you still going to buy one?

Simple poll on who is still going to buy a Bulldozer chip, a lot of people have bought 990fx boards specifically for BD and others with older systems have put off upgrading waiting for BD so for them it may still be a worthwhile upgrade, just a yes/no and if you want leave a reason for your choice. No SB users as I doubt any of us would have bought one anyway.

I was holding out on SB waiting for this...guess I'm going SB. The total cost difference between me upgrading to a 2600k vs an FX-8150 is $5 with the motherboard/RAM choices I made.

No, but because I won't be able to buy a Bulldozer so surely when I update my PC a new generation of processor would be available and then I would choose there.

Bulldozer seems a lot like the Pentium 4: Hot and underwhelming. I think I will get a Phenom II X6 for super cheap before they go EOL, or if my Crosshair III Formula (now over 2 years old) goes the way of my dying ASRock A770DE+, I'll probably go with Intel's "nerfed" platform (1155) because I sure as hell won't be able to afford an extreme 2011 system. I already have a 2133MHz 2*4GB DDR3 kit that my X4 won't even run above 1800 CL10 without falling on its face, so I would just need a 2600K and a half decent board.

My fastest GPU is a 5770 so I think I will just hang on to my Phenom system until something goes boom.

I had high hopes for BD, to bad it wasn't worth the wait. I'll be upgrading to a 2500k system by the end of next month(waiting on tuition reimbursement).

At this point its really up to the motherboard and chip set performance and price.
The one thing that makes Intel appealing in that aspect is rock solid features such as the ram, lan, sata, ahic.
AMD has been notoriously sketchy on some configurations with those things.

My reasoning behind this is the fact that my C2D still works well for my needs so the whole king of perfomance/oc pissing match don't sway me, Cost compatibility and reliability do.

It's a damn shame, too. I was hoping to go back to the AMD camp. I haven't used an AMD processor in my main rig since the Athlon XP days...

Yep -- gotta support the underdawg, yo. CPU speed isn't that important for games, anyway, if we want to be honest.

Support the underdog when Intel's current offerings are better price, speed, and power wise?

Uh... yeah? That's what it means to support an underdog.

Or, go ahead and shun them, and then when Intel's the only game in town and 1) their dev slows WAY down, and 2) their chips start costing loads, don't come crying to me.

Yep. I'll enjoy my ridiculously good CPU while you toy with AMD. There will always be competition.

I never was going to buy one anyway. I'm still doing fine with my Q6600 I may upgrade when the new Intel's come out.

No, there won't. It's not like just anyone can start making x86 chips, you know.

Oh, trust me -- I, for one, am not buying into any hype. I know the chips aren't any better. Parity is all I ask for, and if they can get close to that, I'll still support them, the same way I supported ATI through the sucky years (which was even worse, because their video cards weren't even close to Nvidia's back then).

Nope, not going to buy Bulldozer, at least not yet. Just bought a 990FX board and a 955BE to replace the E4500 rig, and I'll stick with the 955BE for the forseeable future.

After such an anti-climatic release AMD needs to toss us a bone in the form of a 32nm die-shrink Phenom III X4. Should have been working on something like that all along.
