CyberpowerPC Unveils Gamer Scorpius Gaming PCs

CyberpowerPC., a leading manufacturer of custom gaming PCs, today announced the Gamer Scorpius line, a series of desktop gaming PCs based on AMD’s new FX-series “Bulldozer” CPU series.

The new Gamer Scorpius series combines AMD’s new FX CPU, Socket AM3+ (900 series chipset motherboard), and AMD Radeon HD 6000 graphics into a desktop gaming rig that has a boost in performance of 50 percent over the previous generation of AMD desktop platforms at a low cost. Plenty of people don't use the internet to review a product before purchasing.
They are usually the same people who buy pre-built PCs.

They will probably move a lot of these if they are marketed right.
All they need to point out is that it is 8-cores and 3.6ghz stock, and overclocks well.
Then it will sell itself to people who are impressed by big numbers.

the thing is, unless i'm missing something - a price like that with the components used, and a legit windows license is not possible for the average enthusiast-builder. you need to have bulk suppliers for that price, no?

even with cheap mobo and ram, the cpu gpu and windows alone will near $500?

576$ features the 115$ chip... We can easily replicate this
The case is an Elite 430 40$, the mobo is a 95$ one, 4GB RAM is 23~24$, 80$ GPU, 100$ OS (you can get it at 80~85$ if you look hard enough, if you have MSDN/Techplus or wtv its called its free, if you are a student its like 30~40$), Some BS PSU worth 20$, a 55$ HDD, some 15~19$ DVD burner and a 60$ Asetek 510LC. All theses prices are shipped and without MIRs (there is a 30 MIR in all possible I think). Worst case scenario, it is 530$ for the same PC vs 650$. 120$ savings.

If you don't need the OS their price is 492$ + 75$ = 567$, us its 430$. That's 137$ saving. That's 31~32% price-premium over build ourselves.

We can also upgrade the PSU and GPU without BS price premiums.

If that 75$ shipping wasn't there, the price would be OK, but with it, it's a pretty average price...

Only for people who can build their own. For someone who can't, it's cheap, because they're paying for the assembly as well.

Remember this is a PC with a 20$ PSU. If choosing your parts isn't needed, a Dell or Best Buy PC will be the same price, hence "average" price

If it's a gaming pc, it would do better with a Phenom II x4 980 or a Thuban, assuming you want to go AMD.
