System Specs

Asus Maximus IV Extreme - P67

At this moment, my Hard Drive is connected to an [Intel P67 Serial ATA 6.0Gb/s], which is one of two [Red] ports on my motherboard; but there is a another pair of ports called, [Marvell Serial ATA 6.0Gb/s].

What exactly is the difference between the two? And which would be the [very best] option to use?

The Marvell ports are run of a 3rd party Marvell chip, most motherboard manufacturers recommend using the Intel ports for boot drives, 3rd party chips can be used for storage just as well as the intel ones.

You can boot off the Marvell ones, but some manufacturers claim it to be slower.
