Need new Monitor - Advice with image quality needed
Hello, my old Monitor fried with the thunderstorm the other day. I've sent it to the warranty but it will take up to two weeks and i want to play Skyrim, also it doesn't mean they'll fix it.
My old monitor (LG W2361V-PF) has problems with colors, and dark areas, like a gradient but the colors were not smooth and there was some kind of noise in the picture (it's like we can see some lines in color gradients), i barely noticed this in games probably because i wasn't looking at those problems but they were there. And i don't want another with these problems. I can spend around 200€ ($300), can anyone help me? Thank you

Buy something like an e-IPS from DELL or A-MVA from BenQ if you need real colors/black.

23-Inch Dell IPS is your best bet.

I've found this: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...n&sku=320-2807
Dell U2312HM But it has a 8MB response time. And the others cost more than i can spend right now.

If you can spend a bit more, there is always the PA238Q (P-IPS monitor). That will yield great color accuracy
Else the Dell eIPS, BenQ A-MVA or LG eIPS monitors are good choices. The LG IPS225V IPS226V IPS235V or IPS236V are all good, though I'd recommend the IPS225V from the lot of LGs

LG IPS236V-PN It's cheaper than the Dell i've mentioned earlier, is this any good? (Excluding the 5ms response time)

LED is worse quality than CCFL. The backlighting is less uniform and the color reproduction is worse. LED uses less power and can be brighter and thinner.

For a decent budget E-IPS go for the LG IPS235V not the LG IPS236V; as far as i can tell the screen coating is less aggressive, the stand is nicer and it has more options in the menu.

Going for other Monitors without IPS i see a lot of ASUS, which is a manufacturer i love, but honestly i don't really like their monitors (doubt about their quality). Also some LG, most of them with 2ms response time, like my monitor that got fried.

pixel response times are over exaggerated like contrast ratios.

The IPS236V and 235V are supposed to have slower response times than the 226V or 225V
That is why I'll recommend you go the 21.5" LG eIPS eIPS is not a true 8-bit, only 6bit+AFRC, like the TN panels, so the color accuracy isn't as good as a real IPS, but viewing angles/colors are still better than TN. The response times of eIPS are in between that of TN and of true IPS

Or he could go with the Dell U2312HM (the one I referenced) which has excellent image quality and measured insanely low input delay--for a monitor period--and is on sale for a flat $270 through Dell right now.

The dell is also a good option... If you want 23", go Dell, if you don't mind 21.5 and want to save a few bucks, the IPS225V/226V will do great

Guess it'll be Dell U2312HM, but i found another model.
Dell U2312H What's the difference between them? PS: I've noticed this monitor has something called Overdrive, but it seems it's not available through the monitor menu, how can i activate it?
