Looking for laptop bag for large 17" laptop

Got an Asus G74 laptop, which is a 17.3" screen. The back of the laptop is about 2" thick when closed, so it needs to be fairly big. I don't want a backpack if possible, prefer one that can be used over the shoulder. I picked up a 17" modrec at Canada Computers. But it didn't fit.

If you have a G74 I would just get the ASUS backpack. You know it will fit and it looks nice. I have a G71 and I know what you mean, most 17" bags wont fit these laptops. :/

Edit: Sorry I did not see the no backpack part on first read.

Aye, but you DID just drop $1200+ for that beast of a machine, so whats another $130?
If you want a messenger bag Amazon might be your best bet as they normally list dimensions.
G74 Dimensions: 16.5" x 12.8" x 2.4"

Bag #1
Bag Dimensions: 17" x 13" x 4"

Bag #2
Bag Dimensions: 16.25" x 12" x 5.75" (Check the link, I think the .8" would not be an issue)

Maybe not the best looking bag in the world but I have a similar 12" for one of my netbooks

should fit your laptop just fine

Optionally - if the dimensions are correct - this one can be quite nice

oddly enough I find the local thrift/resale shops usually have nice laptop bags for <$10..

I have 2 $75 targus backpacks from there that cost me under $10 total

I actually have one of these for my Gateway P7811 FX 17" laptops and there is a ton of room! It is easy to carry either by the handle or as a backpack.
