Fork in the road on new build....
Ok, over the last couple months I started my new build buy a piece at a time and setting in on my shelf. Bought a limited edition white Raven case. SILVERSTONE RAVEN RV02W-EW All White reinforced p...
A Hale NZT 750 watt PSU NZXT HALE90-750-M 750W ATX 12V v2.2, EPS 12V v2.91... I bought these first because I felt they would be the least to depreciate performance wise. I got a wild hair up my ass the other night an pulled the trigger on the video card. PowerColor AX6870 2GBD5-6DG Radeon HD 6870 2GB 256... I bought this particular car because I have turned into a multi-monitor, multi-task junky. I am running a quad monitor set up right now using a 5750 and a usb video extender for the 4th monitor. Anyway, now that I pulled the trigger in the video card it feels like I started the "clock" on the depreciation part of my computer, if that makes any sense to you guys. I was waiting for the bulldozer results to come in and they don't look great. The new promise from AMD is fixes to fully show what it can do in Windows 7 since Windows 7 was not designed to use bulldozers architecture to it's fullest. Whatever. My point is I am looking to spend any $600 on a Motherboard and CPU and Memory. I am leaning towards the i7 2600 and ASUS P8P67 DELUXE ASUS P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SAT... I am not a gamer per say, I only play Lost Planet 2. I mostly do a lot of video encoding, burning, HD video and web browsing all at the same time. Any advice?

Id advice getting the i7 2600k incase you ever want to overclock it, 8gb of Corsair Vengeance should be enough and you can always upgrade to 16gb if you need more and the asus p8p67 deluxe is a great motherboard.

Thanks guys. What are the advantages of going with the 2600k over the standard 2600? I thought you could overclock the 2600.
