AMD Phenom II x4 960t

I have a HP PAVILLION P6631p. it comes with a athlon ii x4 635, and I changed it to phenom ii x4 945. now i want to upgrade to 960t, but don't know does it work or not because before the 945, i purchased the 965 and the motherboard said it doesn't work with that cpu due to suport only 95w cpu. will my motherboard support the 960t. the 960t is the new one, so im not sure about this. anyone here know. any improvement compare to 945? i don't want to change motherboard at all.

Well the 960t is a 95w processor so the board should support it, though it's really not much of an upgrade from an Athlon II x4

It should work according to this page: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...ctID=c02560084

A six core should work as well.

They overclock like the clappers though, and some off them unlock to 6 cores : ]

They have the same clock speed, so the only real advantage would be the Turbo Core feature, which isn't really that usefull. I wouldn't say it is worth the hassle or money to upgrade.
