This Problem 24/7 people on there People selling Emulator,s with 1000,s of games on old,
Computer Emulator,s I.E Sega/Atari 2600/Name 32/Neo geo 32/ and so on,
Some sellers on there put up 1T hds with 1000,S of rom,s installed on it,

Now this p""s my off cose when i,m looking for old games or P.C. parts all that comes up is
crap like this all the time in the shear engine on e.bay

Now looking at that i would think e.bay would just take down the sellers pro-file but.......

I am sure those guys have some form of licenses for distributing those games in their whole in one gaming system so I do not see a problem with that.

Well, if, you have reported them, maybe, ebay has determined the are legit.

You really need to take it up with ebay or the dev of the software you suspect is "iffy".
Or,contact your governments justice dept.
I don't believe the games thread was intended to be a court of "iffy" on ebay sellers.

If you are resting your case; then, the thread should be rested, too.
Useless ranting...
And, ebay is what it is.

Just my opinion.

My God! I'll never buy another product from E-bay, they are clearly in bed with the pirates. We must be vigilant, thank you for drawing this to our attention. Have you checked dairy products, such as cheese, to see if they're as clean as they make out? There may be piracy there as well.

I'm a console/video game collector and I see things like hacked/flashed consoles filled with roms and stuff all the time on eBay or the classifieds. Whats eBay gonna do about the thousands of auctions put in every day? Employ an army of auction reviewers? My opinion, you're on your own. eBay is merely a platform and does not sell the things off. Sellers do. And you as the buyer should know what you buy. And the seller what they sell. The 13 year old kid may think he's cool selling his flashed Wii with hunderds of games for a fortune (for him). And he knows exactly that isn't really legal. And the buyer does so, too. Not eBays fault. Nor the fault of Craigslist and stuff like that. Or good old fashioned flea markets. Try to regulate all that. Impossibru!

Piracy is rampant on eBay. You'll see loads of ads selling you Windows for just a few pounds/dollars "code only", or "code and disc".

Yeah most of those really old games and such are all public domain nowadays. It's with the newer games that it's a problem.

They take down what they can when obviously its illegal. But they put up as fast as they are taken down. OEM windows install disk is a big one. Another is illegal copied movies and software. If you e-mail them they will take it down. Its just too big. I know its a pain in the ass when searching for something and it floods your search

I had a friend that made thousands of dollars selling dubbed animal porn on ebay back in the day. He sold it for a year or two before they dropped the hammer.

Nothing too much to do with piracy, but I thought I'd share.

The Sad part is tho im Surprised the dev,s like UbiSoth and so on have not Started crying about stuff like this Saying there like to rant about Piracy so much and its killing there game Sale,s.

Now looking at this Problem is the Fact is the Buyer that buys the Product gets (rip,t off.)
Bying from the e.bay seller and not been aware of the fact.
For instance,s ive seen some e.bay sellers selling the p.c. game AssaultCube/Urban Terror,
Which is free to download from the net the sad part was this seller was makeing tones of cash
Looking at his feed back on e.bay there was lots of byers saying that the games there bought
was not working So there where getting rip off big time Idiots on them.

It just sounds iffy saying i code download old roms/games burn them to a dvd and sell them on e.bay for profit.

I think it's up to us consumers to complain and report if we spot pirated items on ebay. Even with the lot of employees who work for ebay, I think it's virtually impossible for them to 'moderate' each and every listing and check it out.

I got frauded myself, years ago when I bought a game expansion. Way back then I didn't report the 'crime' because the amount of money was only like €2 I guess, and I was new to ebay and didn't want negative feedback myself.

And often I hear of people buying pendrives which are not of the advertized size - windows sees them as the advertized size but they'd garble up any large file and then quit working altogether after a couple of weeks.

Now I would definitely report if I receive a fake. One might say it's not worth the hassle for a couple of quid, but the reality is that these people are stealing 'very little money' from 'a lot of people'.

Re: the ebay link, i don't think he's doing anything illegal, he's just selling copies of writable CDs/DVDs with lots of old games on them. he's already stated that the games are freely available in the PD. as long as you put in a disclaimer, you really don't have a leg to stand on if you want to complain
