Yeah I get 7.9s for both 1600mhz @ 8-8-8-24 and 1866 @ 9-9-9-24. (8GB). Must be a timing, speed and amount thing.

CPU is 7.7, GPU 7.9 and 7.9, HDD is 5.9. Hence the SSD I just bought which is in the mail.

GPU 7.9
SSD 7.9

Good to know that even processors that are 2-3 times faster than mine can't reach the max Thought something's wrong with mine. Also, during the index when the CPU is tested, it never goes above 80-90% use.

Okay, since this is one of "look how big my e-peen is" threads I don't know if anyone will even read this but here goes

Anyone know how to edit the WEI file/s to make it go on a scale between 1-10? The guys at Adobe forums have done it but they're not telling anyone how to

Yer it all depends on drivers i've seen my GTX 480 go from 7.9 to 7.7 and one driver even gave me a 7.3 YAY for gay windows which cant bench mark hardware for the sack of not getting a virus.

Furry muff I didn't think of googling "hack". Seems I tried everything else. Sorry for calling you a dick but you could have linked me instead of just saying "google it". It's not like I'm a zero-poster troll noob that asked before searching.

Honestly guys the Windows 7 Experience Index Rating is as useful as tits on a wild boar. Take it with a grain of salt.

It wasn't that I completely doubted that it wouldn't be a 7.9 another time around, I just find the whole WEI rating system to be "chancy" if not reliable at all. My WEI rating on my old rig used to drive me nuts, but now after seeing my rating on my new rig I stopped caring about it. I think you need a system specifically meant to shatter ever world benchmark record out there, where every component is LN2 cooled and is on a test bench for that one time use. Which IMO basically makes the WEI rating for that system meaningless because what Windows Experience is there to experience on that system if its sole purpose was to be only used once for that, correct?

System Specs

CPU 7.7
Mem 7.7
GPU 7.4
GPU 7.4
HDD 7.3

FX8120 @4GHz
Vengance MEM @1724

I will bump it up to 4.5GHz and see if I can push the RAM further and tidy up timings.
Still going to get 7.3 on the SSD though.

OK, but you are the one who started this thread, so...

And from what I have heard, basically an dual CPU board, like an eVGA SR-2, with overclocked six-core Xeons will give a legitimate 7.9 CPU score.

WEI is sort of like the least significant benchmark ever. Nobody should ever go buy hardware based on it. I looked at it once when I installed Win7 two years ago and I've never given a fig about it ever since.
