ChaoticG8R's Deal of 2012

Just have to wait for OCZ to ship out to Amazon

I'm thinking of running two in RAID-0, then installing the other into my HTPC I'm working on.

I know the Indillix controller is not going to flood the SATA 6Gbps like the Gen3 Sandforce does....but that doesn't change the value I got here

Any ideas/recommendations for other uses for them (and no I'm not selling any!)?

BTW...I think this beats my best deal of 2011:

$406.23
-$13.25 For Shipping Refund
-$60.00 For 2 $30 Prepaid Visa MIR's from Sapphire
+ 1 Free Copy of BF3 w/ Karkand
= $332.98

God I love Amazon!

Uh, Frank, it looks like you were trying to black out your last name... if that is the case, you forgot to black out your last name at the top where it states, "Hello, Frank S____".

And, I hope you get the 512Gb, but, IMO it was a mis-print and was supposed to be the 64GB for that price.

Linky to thread over at fat wallet on a discussion of that offer:OCZ Petrol SATA III 512GB SSD for $101/256GB for $158 @Amazon.com - Possibly price mistake

And, the guy/gal (minililing) who posted, over at fat wallet, that, "actually there is no 512/256g for ocz petrol product line when i check in ocz website, will Amazon provide us 256/512 vertex ,haha" is totally incorrect, so ignore that post there.
Could be they are not listed yet, 'cause they are not out the door yet.

Also they have mislabeled the drive as "Synchronous" when it is really Asynchronous.

Oh I know it was definitely a price error, so was getting two 6970s for less then the price of 1, but Amazon has a bad habit of fulfilling their errors more often then canceling them.

I noticed that after posting the pics that my last name was there and meh, I just know everyone knew me as Frank on TPU, but am indifferent to my last name....so that's why I was thinking of blacking it out, oh well

And I would have shared with everyone if the deal had lasted more then 12hrs when it went from Out of Stock/Temporarily Not Available (meaning you can still order and lockin the price) to just plain Not Available.

It's like the deal for the ASUS RT-N66U, I wish I could locked that in for $180 but oh we'll, another deal is always around the corner!

Any one have recommendations though for these slower I Indillix controllers?

You have had AWESOME luck getting mis-print pricing.

I know nothing of SSD's, really. No help for ya there, but I wanna hear if ya get these or not, and how it works out for ya..RAID would be cool.

Missed ya on BF3 last night, BTW. Bugger.

Even though the Petrol series is the lower-end model of the new Indilinx drives, the 512GB version has a MSRP of $650, so I will be surprised if Amazon allows this order to go through, they would loose about $1,647.

Did you get it or was it canceled? Awesome deal if not.

BTW, my deal of 2012 (so far) was my current CPU for €50.
