Yeah I got two.... That was the only way it made sense to upgrade considering the GTX 580's already in my system (Some would argue with that thought pattern if it is worth it or not. My E-pen is happy with it though!) But anyway I got them.... It wasn't too much of a sticker shock since I plan on selling my current cards as well as I was saving up for awhile for this. So I had money put away.... Now my big question is ... will Trixx support these cards time will tell

Sweet. You'll be tearing through some frames for sure. Might be time to jump to a 120hz or a 30" IPS monitor, no? I bit the 120hz bullet a couple of weeks ago and I do love the silky smoothness.

Im sure Sapphire will have a Trixx update within a week or 2 or you could try a beta version of Afterburner and start clocking those bad boys! Do you plan on H20ing these puppies?

I just noticed that under the ASUS card it lists the (L) dimension as 10.9", for reference I think my 6970's are 11.25" which makes these pretty awesome. Do you know how long your GTX580's are?

I just got a 2nd 6970 of thE bay for 250 so I'm more than happy with that for a while.

As usual Asus knows how to enhance the physical appeal of an AMD card with a simple sticker, and as usual they charge a markup for said sticker.

Yup. Bastards...

XFX Black Edition already out of stock...and its the most expensive one. I've never liked the aftermarket coolers that just blow the hot air in the case. Blower fans for me.

My 580's are 10.5 inches long just as long as the GTX 285's. Anyway yeah I am sure Trixx will support it.... maybe Wizzard could shed some light on it sometime though Can't wait

Even if they are 50$ or more above a GTX580 and even if I still consider them to be expensive for the performance I don't know who in their right mind will buy a GTX580 from now on.

Since you're spending all that money, did you get next day delivery? I figured "why not' sinde the card I initiallly ordered (thinking I'd get it way early) cost much more than the one I just picked up.

How much longer is this than a reference 6950? I am not finding consistent or accurate measurements for either card. Everyone seems to be ignoring the cooler or rounding up. I need to know exact length in mm counting coolers.

it is 10.8 inches in length.... so what ever that is in MM..... It should be about the same size actually as the HD 6950

Always been a Sapphire man back to my X800's and been using Vapor-X's for my last couple of cards. Great cooler, quiet and well the 7970 Vapor-X's are gonna have a 1Ghz clock on them outta the box so just a bonus.

Given that price I'm thinking in UK the price is going to hit the ground running at about £475-500 (thats adding on taxes and an import sting too). £500 is too steep* - here's hoping it's not parity with the US prices...

*I got my first GTX 580 for <£400 when they came out. Even my MSI LIghtning was £420 brand new. If these retail for £100 more than a 580 then a 580 still looks a good buy.

That was a pre-shipped from manufacture point price for retailers - not the end consumer
