Yep, I still see sealed, brand new, in box cards from around that generation or thereabouts being sold.

I've seen really old junk at my local Staples (for obscene prices). Those stores prey on the ignorant.

Yup they have the same things at the Staples and OD here. I think they even have like a GT 210 for about $180. And like someone else said, they only keep that stuff in there so when someone brings in a computer that has a faulty part (PSU, VGA, etc.) they can just walk over there and rip them off again by charging such a huge price for a replacement part.

There's a computer parts vender that sets up a booth at the local mall here. He has a Rage Fury pro agp 32 meg card sealled in it's box for the low low price of $129. I was like damn I need like three of those to got with the one I have in it's box in my closet. lol

Bah, PCI cards are rare and expensive. Old tech which isn't supported anymore is expensive, The same applies to brand new (no ebay or second hand) SDRAM, DDR, AGP cards, as well as IDE hard disks. This didn't surprised me at all.

Well sort of, at least compared to current DDR3, here I saw an 512MB PC133 about 15€ a bit less than a 4 GB DDR3 1333
![]() Oh and an Geforce 6200 512MB AGP: 44€, my Geforce GT 520 1GB PCI-E which is basic but far superior, for the same price. Last edited by Derek12; Jan 16, 2012 at 08:18 PM. |

Actually this isn't a fair comparison. The card in this link is strictly a Server card intended for server boards and probably comes with a low profile bracket as such. You can buy cards like this today, e.g ATI ES1000 (Rage Pro replacement), Matrox G200ew (The Workstation end of Matrox Mystique) and NVIDIA Riva series I think it was. These chipsets were all produced in the late 90's and yet some of them are still being made today for server boards, mainly for super cheap on board video though. You can buy an ATI ES1000 vga card brand new today and it does not have a heatsink. The card on the OP is a old enthusiast class gaming card, so I have absolutely no clue how or why that thing is still on the shelves lol... Unless of course you plan on playing ROTT or DUKE NUKEM on a 10 year old machine...
