Any tips on cleaning a branded mice <razer, ttesports,etc.>

Currently have this one, as major problems nothing escapes dust. So how do you guys clean your mouse<buttons nooks and crannies in between>?

Also what are good home made alternatives for a mousepad/mat, atm using a hanky.

Personally Id just use some cotton buds dipped in rubbing alcohol or Brasso Gadgetcare to get crap off my mouse, For hard to reach places i use a small frim toothbrush or with a little dab of gadgetcare to get rid of the dust and any dirt then just wipe it down when im done.

I also use the same method to clean around the keys on my keyboard when it gets really gunky and shit after hours and hours of playing.
its very time consuming cleaning that way and there are probably a lot easier an better ways to clean it but thats the way i roll because I have OCD.

like in all "how do i clean" threads i'll suggest throwing your mouse in the dishwasher. give it lots of time to dry. it helps if you are willing to disassemble it.

And what if you do not have a dishwasher? Assuming every one has a dishwasher is kind of well dumb. I do not have one. I clean my stuff with tooth brush and paint brush, I use alcohol and some times widow clean. Painstaking and time consuming but effective.

blast the thing with the garden hose, or run it under the faucet, same thing as the dishwasher, leave it dry really well before use

First off I think the whole wash it in a dishwasher or use a garden hose is quite over exaggerated, Really you need to clean them like that? You damn sure better not use them for 48-72 hours and this is if you have them in a really warm room 78F.
To be honest there is no need to get that clean. When an hour or 2 of good tooth brush and pain brush cleaning and caned air will do just as well. I have had computers for a long time and not once have I ever gone to that kind of extreme just to clean a key board or mouse. There is no need.

Why waste time with a toothbrush for 2 hours! Just put it in the dishwasher. If there are electrical parts, use a little regular detergent. If it is plastic only, use aggressive dishwasher tablets.

If you dont have a dishwasher, partly fill the bathtub with warm water. Mix in some detergent. Shake the device to be cleaned vigorously under water.

Do not be shy.

Shake to dry. Then leave propped up at some angle to drip/drain dry for half a day, then turn over, shake, and leave to dry again.

How long for? Take a wet teashirt (spun dry) out of the washing machine. Hang it up in the same room as the device you are drying. When the t-shirt is dry, then so it your device.

I have cleaned keyboards, mice, and mainboards like this. I do not use this process for CD drives or HDDs.

I know I'm repeating myself, but just use isopropyl alcohol 90+%, it's not complicated... Dries up much faster than water and can easily clean your mouse. Dishwasher is a waste of time and on top of that adds unnecessary danger and voids warranty for sure. Wouldn't the electronics melt inside a dishwasher?

The funny part about people being heistant about the dishwasher method, most major board manufacturers when doing volume production have large board washers... essentially a dishwasher on steriods that clean all the flux residue, etc. off the boards once assembled.

Edit: And I don't just mean motherboard manufacturers, circit boards of all types.

Does your dishwasher use distilled water? I know mine doesn't...

Really? Well then take some water and just pour it on your computer, Test that theory out for us will you? Or just pour some distilled water all over it for us, Please? Then get back to us with the results.

Any one taking parts and putting them in a dishwasher should know how dangerous it can be, Not only can it cause catastrophic failure of the electronics if not properly dried out but just think of the havoc it can reek on them with the powerful jets of water, Loosening them up or even breaking them off?
But hey do what works for you. You can wash them in a tub, hose them off in the yard or put them in the dishwasher if you like, Hell send them for a spin in the wash-machine for all I care, I will stick to what has worked for me for the last 13 years.

Don't try the dishwasher method, just go to the pharmacy, get some isopropyl and soak your mouse in it for all I care, but don't use stupid methods like the dishwasher or tub ones. There's a reason why those methods aren't popular.... COMMON SENSE

It's also great to get thermal paste off of CPUs etc. And when you hurt yourself, it is awesome for preventing infections. Seriously do yourself a favor and get some isopropyl at the nearest Walgreens or whatever pharmacy is near you

grab botel of detol spray , spray then wipe , job done on a strange but true note the best way ive found to clean raidtors(obv pc water) is a can of lynx deodorant(not antiperspirant) whilst switched off or prefferably out it blows the dirt out ,the propyl and alcohol clean its gaps etc plus bonus freshness on switch on ,seriously genius stuff ive tried it on keyboards and mice too with some success,I use it like polish/airduster

dont use cheap alternatives that may cause/leave residues lynx dosnt, not long lasting
and theres a very slim chance youll blow something up if attempted whilst powered and in case or with antiperpirant(usually has alloys in it but either way residues a lot)

Well I know the use of alcohol pretty much and am too chicken to dip it on a tub and dishwash it xD. Atm have cleaned it with a cloth w/ a lil soap, and some Q-Tips plus blowing air thru the small gaps (a weak air compressor). So far it's still working. Heh.

OT:Would lighter fluid do as well as alcohol? Heh
