Time for a new modular PSU
There's currently a sale going on at Newegg and some 750W PSUs are going for cheap - There's a 15% discount for many items. Some modular ones caught my eye and wanted some opinions, since I'm about due for one for one anyway (year 4 of 5 year warranty). Here's a few I had in mind:
CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 75... - CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 - $149 + shipping or $127 from Amazon CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750M 750W ATX12V v2.31... - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750M - $129 + shipping OCZ Fatal1ty 750W Modular Gaming 80Plus Bronze Pow... - OCZ Fatal1ty 750W - $109 + shipping NZXT HALE82 HALE82-750-M 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI ... - NZXT HALE82-750-M - $109 + shipping OCZ ZT Series 750W Fully-Modular 80PLUS Bronze Hig... - OCZ ZT Series 750W - $109 I would mention how these are all technically more efficient than my current PSU (PC P&C S75QB 750W) but after reading an article I'm not really worried about power savings, just a quality PSU that I can hang on to for a few years without burning my house down. And, you know, be a modular unit so I can get rid of some cable clutter. I'm feeling the HX750, especially if I can get Newegg to price match Amazon. However, the only mention of price matching I can find is through their Iron Egg holiday promotion so that is likely a waste of time. Thoughts? Opinions? Any other suggestions? System specs are current, btw. |

Thanks for the suggestion on that. I don't really have much experience with Silverstone, but understand they are a strong brand. However, that unit you mentioned does not appeal to me, as it was pointed out there is no power switch. Otherwise the mesh would have matched my case's design nicely. :/

If you're going to spend $150 on the Corsair, I'd wait until the Seasonic x750 goes on sale for around that same price.

Check some reviews, specifially those that mention the OEM manufacturer as nearly all PSU are rebrands.... the only thing different is branding, color/styling, accessories, etc... TPu, HardOcp (spelling?, and Hardware Heaven all do good reviews and list out OEM manufacturers

with that setup you dont need 750w; for the money you should get a corsair AX 650w gold instead
