LOL don't get me started on raging about GB mobo's. I changed to P67-UD5 from an old asus mobo with 1156 because the local shop ran out of asus 1155 boards. What a mistake that was.

I take you're aware that Asus and ASRock are anything but friends these days? They're in fact the worst of enemies, as ASRock is owned by Pegatron which had anything but a friendly departure from Asus. Just saying...

I know they are not friends these days but the similarity in features, BIOS, performance, reliability and overclocking abilities makes them one hellofa' relatives.

Every piece of branding is painful, from the "Profess1onal" to the lightning logo. Even as a child in the 90s I think I'd have looked at that and gone "really?"

Asrock has never got the entire logo thing. They have always been terrible imo.

GB has been flawless for me on both 775 and 1366. Way better than my Asus boards.

Funny, for me it's the other way around.

Also for what it's worth, I wanted to buy a Gigabyte X79-UD5 but then there was that whole pesky catching fire thing when OCed. So I though maybe not

Ive had the P35DS3L, best motherboard ive ever bought in terms of investment.
Im not ashamed to say that in LGA775 gigabyte rocked.
But then, came the LGA1156 era. Just piles of burned gigabyte board have started to arrive at computer stores. Articles and more costumers kept complaining about their hardware faults.
So back then i decided to get an Asus P7P55D - Best decision ive ever made.
I have been represented to a whole new class of stability and performance.
Then, when the LGA1155 era came and ive read some article about a GB P67 motherboard who had it's VRMs toasted i decided to mark an X on gigabyte's motherboards.
Moreover.

Once you go asus P7\P8, you see the features and comfterbility - you never go back.

BTW ive had the GB X58-Extreme, and i hated every minute working with it.

I have no idea which way I'm gonna go for my next build. It depends on slot layouts and reviews. I'll happily give Asus or ASRock a spin if they are up to snuff.

I don't care for the Fatal1ty branding at all.
if it was on a mouse, okay, I can relate. it's a high DPI gaming mouse, not your average office mouse.
but on a motherboard? seriously?

It'd be better if they just named it the Asrock x79 Pro.
take away the licensing fee, lower the price = good buy.
