NVIDIA GTX 680 Cartoon, NVIDIA will sell a $299 Graphiccard for $549

Funny and some what true

The reports are now coming in, NVIDIA will sell a $299 Graphiccard for $549.

http://fudzilla.com/home/item/26310-...record-quarter

The only thing that can save us now is if AMD drops the price of HD7970 to $350-$400 next week.

Do not mistake me for a AMD fan, i love NVIDIA but i won't let them screw me out of my money.

In a way, yes. Now NVIDIA can procrastinate/sandbag with GK100, till AMD beats GK104 by a big margin.

I still say they should change it to "unbeatable performance
only if you're rich, and have a really nice girlfriend/wife who lets you buy expensive stuff that's only 10% better than competition for $100 more"™

I don't get that cartoon, isn't there a pretty good performance increase with the HD7XXX series?

I really do think we have this all wrong. Yes Nvidia did say that "We thought AMD's Next gen cards would have be more powerful" but of course your competition is going to say something like that. Let's not over look the fact though.... that if Nvidia went with their original plan.... we would have not seen the real GTX 680 until late H2 of 2012 Oct or Nov. (Now the GTX 780)
Which would of gave AMD enough time to have the HD7970 run it's course and release something else. We are all taking two companies that hate each other.... and trusting what the other one says about the other one. That is not a smart way to learn facts.

someone on here is saying "yeah it beats it by 1% in some cases."

Also do not forget that AMD has 2 other cards to release this year...7990 and probably a refreshed 7890(the mystery Sapphire card)

Beware of first time posters who have a strong bias--easy way for paid shills to potentially sway public opinion.

Yeah a solid performance increase, but some peeps still expected more from it though. They are also milking the lack of competition and asking silly money for their cards.

Apparently this is all nVidia's fault though, go figure.

its ok dude, i am sure this guy will follow this up with benchmarks from "his" bulldozer setup which sow it beating intel chips too

yea, this was funny when the 580 came out, now its not as we dont know solid rrp yet. i would piss myself if the 680 comes out under the 7970s price.

I don't see the problem, why is everyone bashing nvidia when they're late to this game, AMD has the lead, go to your internal stoves and turn the dials down people, damn, buy the card that has the best price per performance.

performance?

some early leaked numbers show basic DX11 performance about 10-15% better...
but many other benches show a negative 20-25% result.

ouch!

did not paint a pretty picture.

those were alpha drivers... hopefully they can work a miracle before launch.
