New Comp Build... How's it look?

Hello everyone!! So I'm going to be building a me computer soon.... And was just curious on what any of you guys would prefer. Here's a list of my specs so far:

CPU: i7-2600k @3.4GHz (will OC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 680/690 (Rumored release this Thursday)
RAM: 16GB(4x4gb) Patriot Signature DDR3 1600
Case: NZXT Switch 810 black
Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty Professional B3
Power Supply: Thermaltake Black Widow 850W
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V+200 120GB Sata III
Cooling: Water cooling-H20 320 Edge by swiftech

EDIT: Swapped out Video cards and decided to wait for the release of the new Nvidia cards. Also swapped the koolance powers water cooling with the H20 320 by swiftech as suggested.

Other than the Koolance kit, it looks like a solid build. There are much better alternatives to Koolance, nowadays, such as the Swiftech H2O-320 Edge kit. Also, are you planning on adding other HDDs than the SSD for storage?

Thanks for the tip! I'll go take a look at the swiftech kit. And yes I am, I'm going to get a Seagate 1tb 7200rpm with my second gtx 570. Until then I'm just going to use my spare 500gb drive.

Sorry, I meant to leave you a link. The pump in this kit, the MCP-35X, can handle any number of blocks you decide to add to your loop, and is designed to run parallel with more than one component in the loop. So cool.

You can order UV reactant tubing of any color, by the foot, from any enthusiast web vendor, such as:

Thats debatable... I use 2 GTX470's in 5760x1080 and most games I can max out and still have room... Even skyrim (unless I throw in a crapload of mods)

Two 570's can handle anything at 1080p+

OP- what resolution are you going to game at?

At the moment 1366x768 and I'm going to be upgrading to 3 1600x900 monitors... There will also be a second gtx 570 at that time.

What the Hell man? You know this is a kick ass setup but want to rub it in the face of broke ass losers like me! Well Congratulations it will kill any thing out there and with some tweaking will even be as good as Ivy bridge!

Forget SLI, not worth it.

Get a single HD7970 or GTX680.

It will perform better than two 570's, regardless of what benchmarks say.

He already has the 570, adding a second one would be relatively cheap.

the only reason I say it is bc I have a 570 and it is enough NOW to game at 1080p with eyecandy.

But I also got the 570 a year ago... if you are building a rig now, you should build it to be future proof, the trend for games is that they will be using more and more memory. SLIing does not increase your vram because the cards are copies of each other - so the setup will have a ton of GPU power but will hamstring itself when it runs out of buffer.

also if you get the wrong 570s they can have very weak VRMs. Ive popped one, and ive seen a ton of threads of people that blew theirs up during regular use.

Good option.

However, if the GTX 680 costs more than a HD 7970, get the latter.

Simply OC the HD 7970 and I assure you, it will perform just as good, if not SLIGHTLY better. Future drivers from AMD will increase the performance and quality of the HD 7970 even further.

I've lost trust in reviews on the internet and benchmarks. They just don't truly prove anything until you've tried it yourself, first hand.

Yes, it is depending on the price. But it's rumored to be around $500 and it being based on the kepler design... I'm not sure that the 7970 OC will compete.
