Yes but the point being, I already picked a Z68 board for him and he said he will be getting it. I'm perfectly chilled, just annoys me when people chip in on a thread that they haven't actually read.

Oh and JayWray when you get your new card, if you need or want to modify the bios in any way JrRacinFan is the man. Sorted me out when I had a GTX 460

@LifeOnMars to annoy him (massive troll warning)

Ditch it all, go with an X79 build.

j/k
Yeah, I like the Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 as well. Very nice board for the budget. Gawd I really need some new stuff to mess with. It's been a while since I have actually upgraded.

You trolling bassa

Believe it or not I'm going to be upgrading within a couple of months. Finally have a semi decent job and looking to go all out on a beast. Can't beat that feeling of all new boxed components arriving on your doorstep ready to create the magic.

I'm also considering going into watercooling just to give myself something new to learn and get interested in.

Those were corrected with the B3 revision though.

They were revised, problem sorted. B3 boards were sent as replacements. I had a P67 board for 3 months which was on 24/7, never had one issue with it.

Maybe this will clarify how fast each chip runs.
BF3, Ultra, 4x AA, 16x AF @ 1920x1200. (Thanks Guru3d.)

3 more FPS for 60 dollars? The 6870 might be a better option all around even if it isn't faster. (The 6870 can hit 1ghz core clock too.)

I think you missed the point here. We posted the 448 version which is pretty much a 570. It will murder the 6870 easily

The cheapest 448 core on newegg is 260 USD, the cheapest 6870 on newegg is (excluding visiontek,) is about 170 USD. You're paying 90 USD more for the 448 core. You're paying 50% more for about 20% more power. That is the point I'm making. If you want that kind of performance, you're not looking at the 6870, you're looking at the 7850 if you want to maintain that price point.
