I would recommend at least a 7750, 7770, or a 6870. I'm not sure what the Benchmarks between the 7770 and 6870 are like but i would imagine the 6870 would be a hair better then the 7770. Search for Benchmarks and see what you come up with. But any of these would be just fine for you.

Also,I would also recommend a CPU upgrade. I had a dual core when i got my 5770. It was a huge bottleneck. Upgraded to a Phenom II x4 925. Solved my graphics bottleneck issue.

SAPPHIRE 11202-00-20G Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 PCI... ---7750 -$109

SAPPHIRE 11201-00-20G Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1... ---7770 -$159

PowerColor AX6870 1GBD5-2DH Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256... ---6870 -$159

Good cards for what you pay. They will push GTA-4 at 1920x1080 no problem.

Hope this was helpful.

From his specs the monitor is a Philips 202E, which apparently has a 1600x900 native resolution.

Hi,

I can recommend this Colorful GTX 560 with 336 shader units which performs pretty well in GTA4. Probably the one of the best graphics card for the money you can get, and it will beat the HD 6750 in every game; the price is 1099 Yuan.

Second choice would be this GTX 460 from Zotac which is still a lot faster than the AMD HD 6750. For 979 Yuan.

But there are also the HD 6850 graphics cards which are cheaper than the GTX560/460 cards from above, but I am not familiar with the brands of Maxsun and Unika: Maxsun HD6850 & Unika HD6850 DDR5. Both are around the 849 Yuan.

Good luck with the upgrade!

Also, if your PSU is really a 250w as you filled in, you cant really upgrade to any vidcard without replacing the PSU first.

I'm even surprised your current system works on so low a psu.

I wouldnt change anything on that system before getting a decent PSU.

A 250W power supply unit is definitely not enough to run a gaming PC. So upgrade at least to a 450W PSU.

Anyway, I found a little cheaper GTX 460 (889 Yuan): Galaxy GTX 460 1GB but it says it has 336 shader units but 192 bit DDR5 video memory(?). Is that even possible or it's just a typo?

According to nVidia, a 1GB GTX460 with a 192-bit memory bus exists:

(GTX460 V2 in their table)

Year, I also have paid attention to this Video Card before, but, like what you said above, my PSU is only 250W, so I want to choose a energy saving Video Card, my friend told me HD6750 just has 83W in extreme situation, I think my PSU can bear it.

^^ these are the better suggested cards... 77xx series is overpriced and underperforms for the $$. A 6850 kills a 7750 and a 7770, never mind a 6870.

Your performance goes like this from fastest to slowest. 560Ti > 6870/6850 >460 > 7770 > 7750...

GTA 4 is a hard game, I struggle to play it smoothly with everything turned up on my core i5 750, and 570, so anyone that tells you they can max it on their 5770/7750 is basically saying "i get 25fps while driving, and thats with the settings being adjusted."

a 7750 will be a huge disappointment, it will not play the game well. a 6850 is about 45% faster and a 6870 is about 75% faster, these are huge numbers for the same price.
