5870 - 5850 flash as firepro or GL?

i was pondering , can a 5870 and a 5850 be flashed as their co-existant fire gl or pro version, mine are both refference and ive allready flashed the vtx3d 5870 to an Asus with higher oc limits , i couldnt get the 5850 working right reflashed sso its back to stock bios

im interested because ive gotten the idea in my head that it might unlock some double precision performance that might help it fold quicker/better if its flashed and installed as a firepro V7800 or 8800 not sure though as mines got 1 gig of memory

My guess is no, I haven't seen anyone lately that did it through flashing, some tried to mod the BIOS to make it work but no success.
Your only hope is a softmod (driver mod) but currently it only works for up to HD4xxx cards, there is still no patchscript for the 5 and 6 series.

And also if I remember right the FirePro won't fold better, it will actually fold slower since it's clocked lower. The only thing that the FirePro is optimized for is CAD (OpenGL) work.

Ive another quick question ,was going to start a thread but ya know , this is here

Ive bee using saphire trix to(in sync) oc both my 5870 and 5850 , i used to use AB but this ocs better /easier and beyond Amd card limits(my 5850 has stk bios) which is important at 1000 core 1200 mem as AB seemed to not oc as stable ie the 5850 sometimes just wouldnt up clocks

anyway Trixx's Achilees for me is that it wont let me go beyond 1.3V and i know the vreg's will do 1.325V and i did run my 5870 stable at 1050 with that before so can trixx be tweeked??

But like I said it's only for cards up to and including HD4xxx series, everyone is still waiting for new patchscript to softmod 5 and 6 series cards.
