HTPC + Battlefield 2 gaming rig

I will build this rig for HTPC purpose and gaming for Battlefield 2 only on my 1080P 32 inches.

Case: Aerocool PGS Qx-2000
Motherboard: Asus P5GD1-VM
CPU: P4-775 3.4gigs FSB-800 2M cache
Memory: Kingston KVR400 4 X 1 gig
Videocard: ?????
HDD: "Maxtor Diamond Plus 9" IDE 200 gigs
Optical: LG GH24NS90 Sata
PSU: @-power 430W

I'm far from home for now but that system is ready to be assembled when I'll return next month.

What do you think about it?

Suggest me a PCI-E 16X or 1X videocard preferably 512megs and over with 128 bits minimum. HDMI connector with sound. It must be able to play BF2 at max settings on 32" lcd @ 1080P but not overkill it so I could stay within decent price.

Well, there's the Radeon HD 77xx serious and 68xx series if you're looking for maximum settings. You'll see $100-175 new and $75-125 used on them usually.

Any specific model? What is more recent 77XX or 68XX serie ?

The 7750/7770 are newer, and the 7770 offers performance between the 6850 and 6870 while using quite a bit less power, and the 7750 performs just below a 6850 while being so power efficient it doesn't even need a pci-e power connector. If you're limited to one the Radeon HD 7850 is the fastest GPU, and is faster than a 6870 or 6950, but costs ~$250, so it may be over what you're looking at, but will be the fastest. You're second option within that power envelope if you are limited to one is a 7770 i believe.

its the problem with video cards. They use lower number for series that got newer performance. So a newbie in videocards like me couldn't follow.

Lower price needed but still able to play BF2 at full hd lol. The build without the case cost me 100$ to build so a cheap card and im gonna be happy with it.

My psu doesnt have the pci-e connector and I dont even have sata so I use an adapter for the dvd burner.

I wouldn't go below a Radeon HD 6570 if you're trying to play at full HD.
At the bare minimum go with this;

Otherwise if you can find one of the above used you might find one under $50, but if you want to play at anything but bare minimum settings you are going to want a better card, and you're better off going AMD/ATI in the low end vs Nvidia.

And gotcha. So the fastest card you can use is going to be the 7750. Which you won't play newer games at max settings with, but with an older game like BF 2 you should be able to play 1080p maxed out at 30-40 frames per second.

The HIS cool is fine. I got one but AGP so it doesnt fit in this motherboard.

Gotcha. Well if you are looking to play at max settings @ 1080p, you're probably going to want the Radeon HD 7750. Otherwise if you can't spend as much, if you can try to at least get the 6570. Just my input.

You'll have about two to three times the CPU performance. Just a thought.
