why don't you go pick up the K60 at a local shop and return it if you don't like it?

The backlighting was a determining factor for me too. I also like low profile keycaps, which are very difficult to find on mechanical keyboards.

once you start typing it will all come to you like a bad episode of House. mechanical keyboards are superior. it's hard to imagine they used to come packed in with desktops.

a lot of the times people return them because they keep the misses up. mechanical keyboards can be customized so if you don't like Cherry MX Red switches there are others like Brown, Blue, Black, Clear, etc.

Nah just me in this big empty room. doesnt matter its a little noisey, from what i read in most reviews the K90 is pretty quiet but it still makes a noise due to the keys clattering down on the aluminium body when pressed.

with mechanical switches there is a plus to them for the noise. You don't have to travel more than 2mm to activate the switch, while it takes 4mm of travel to get the "clack". As time went buy with my K60/K90 use I was able to get used to the activation level making me not need to bottom out the switches all the time

Hope ya like it and glad ya did not go for a Razer one i have already had one fail on me.. They extended the warranty for a extra 3 months as it was about 5 days from the end of it. And still there is a issue with one of the keys were it's a but stiff..

But the time it was send back rubber dome felt terrible which is the reason i don't want to send this one back.. And always thought if my number 6 does fail i have 5 spare keys on the left i don't use hahaha..

Hope you enjoy it.

I think Razor have gone down hill since the early days. A friend of mine bought a Lycosa about two weeks ago and he can hardly game on it as his keys keep 'sticking' randomly.

Told him to go get a refund but hes lost the reciept.

Nice looking keyboards though - I really dig the mirror finish version but compared to this aluminium K90 that ive got in my hands, it feels you can hit a few home runs with it and it would still work! guess ive got a solid weapon incase of zombie apocalypse.

Well the 1st mouse i had of them was a DB the original one and just lasted over a year and the other 2 i had of them lasted less so could not agree more i guess i was hoping their keyboards would be better hehe.. Well i be happy if nothing goes wrong with this one will have to see.

Thing is razer do give a 2 year warranty now i do believe on their mice and a 3 month if the warranty is nearly out.

It's not just razer though getting the same crap from Steelseries were their mouse failed within 12 months and i am sure the same with this will happen too.. And being in the US and not Europe their warranty only a year and not 2 unless they changed it recently.

So razer is the better option for me at least as Logitech are no good for me as they lack decent left handed mice.

O yeah it's the same issue with every single mouse left button starts to double click which only says to me they need to use metal or at least harder plastic for the micro switch.

I'm one that doesn't see a need in spending alot of money on a KB. Personally, I've been using a Logitech Elite LE for the past 5-6 years and I love it. Not a single problem with it. I did replace it once. I thought I wanted a new "nice" keyboard, so I bought a Lycosa. Yeah, I returned that within a week and went back to the LE. I'll cry when I actually have to replace my LE.

well as you probably know, ive used nothing logitech perhipherals exclusively for as long as i can remember and they have never let me down until they finally surcomed to the abuse of pretty much at least 6-8hrs or longer of intense button mashing on a daily basis. only real issue ive had was the G500 mouse emitting a small high pitched squeeking sound when the left mouse button was pressed that just totally irritated me as much similar to the way pure cotton 'squeeks' in your head when you grab a handfull of it and squeeze it around in your hand.

fixed the problem myself with a blast of GT85 chain lube I usually use on my bike but i had it lying around, left it to dry and its not made a noise since then and that was almost 2 years ago.

*****

would have been quicker typing out a response but im using the new keyboard right now and its taking a little getting used to from the scissor switches im normally used to (and im trying to find my optimal typing position so i might need to break out the wrist rest)

shit tonnes of spelling mistakes inbound!

just keyboards as far as i know. I think their mice are generally a lot better quality but i think they are also dropping the ball on that too.

If your main use itīs gaming my advice is get one of this:

SteelSeries Merc Stealth

http://steelseries.com/products/keyb...s-merc-stealth

I use this KB for the past 2 years and itīs still in very good condition.
And since itīs so good for gaming I have bought another just in case SteelSeries put it of production.

Best KB ever made

well id like to think of my rig as general purpose but i suppose i have specced a lot towards the gaming side

that keyboard looks pretty unique but its not something that i would personally buy. If i went to a lot of LAN parties i might consider it,

the K90 is on my desk now anyway and its taking some getting used to not the mention the added noise from the keys hitting the aluminium when pressed.

Im trying to learn not to push the keys down completely but it will take some getting used too.

On the other hand i sound like a boss because hearing the keys tap gives you a general idea of how fast you or some people can type.

my illuminated keyboard hardly made a sound at all.

I have to say, one thing that does really impress me about this keyboard is the lighting, the switches are literally screwed into a peice of aluminum and because each key has its own LED underneath, the light reflects off the aluminum giving it a really really cool looking neon affect like you would see on a pimped up japanese sports car.
