When i start to play bf3 my computer frezzes with mouse on screen then i have to hard shut it down and when i try to overclock anymore i cant go past 4.1 ghz because my computer shuts down and when i try to turn it on it goes to bios does that one beep that means everything is ok then shuts down But if i leave the psu unplugged for a hour or two it turns back on No problem IM pretty sure its the Psu but i want some second opinions before i spend $400 on a 1500w

MY specs are
amd fx-8120 overclocked to 4.1
asus saber tooth 990fx
ALOT OF FANS all running at %100 including the video cards fans are always %100
corsair h60
4x 8gig sticks of corsair ram
two ati 6970's overclocked
two 7200rpm harddrives

and i forgot to add a couple months ago i noticed if i have my HTC plugged into my pc when its turned off my computer cant turn on till its unplugged

Before you do further testing. Try enabling vsync.

I experience that as well with a Rezound and 2 Droids, every once in a while.

Have you tested your OC with LinX, intelburntest, or prime95? Also WHY do you need a 1500W PSU or a 1000W PSU for that matter?

965 Black @ 3.8Ghz + 2x 6950's unlocked to 6970's can pull up to 725W. I am just doing the fundamentals right now, making sure it's not something else.

Its the PSU. Get a PSu with a return policy, if it doesn't solve your problem send it/take it back.

With that said then graphics cards are then pulling more than what the psu can handle. Go with a nice Seasonic, Enermax, or a high wattage Corsair (850W+).

Before doing anything with the PSU, Take one card out and run single card to confirm this. I still don't think it should tax 1000W

Ok then, PSU is most likely the issue. Does it do this with EVERY games you try? Also does it do it in Furmark or Kombuster?

Myself and crazyeyes have confirmed this already, B. Again I was just double checking to make sure it wasn't something else.

yea change the PSU to something that doesn't suck

i tried using an HX 850 with 2x 6970s and a Sandybridge cpu, it killed the HX850 and killed both GPUs and 3 HDDs, lol

you need alot of grunt to handly a fully overclocked system

FX series sucks more power then god damn fermi per mm^2
combine that with 2x 6970s that can hit 270+ watts full load

your looking at

CPU when fully overclocked 190-300w depending on what you max out at
GPUs when overclocked max out at 300-320w each

worst case senario

300+300+300 = 900 thats before we add fans, mobo, hdds, optical, ssds, or any other misc items in the PC, this doesnt mean its the power lvl its going to hit all the time, but it will spike to this and an unstable unit wont handle it
