Keyboard has a mind of its own

Recently my keyboard has been acting up, and has been typing quite a few things by it's own. All the things it has typed most are words, so far my keyboard has typed; Agatha09287, body, and it's. I've virus scanned, and nothing came of it. Do any of you guys have any ideas of what this might be? Thanks for the help in advance!

That's so weird. Maybe there is a malware in your computer. Anyway, I'm sure there would be someone is able to help you with this.

Or Simply a ghost trying to tell you "The body of Agatha09287, it's in xxxx" :-P

Is remote assistance turned off, do you have teamviewer installed and or running in the background?

Never seen a keyboard type words, stuck keys maybe, but not anything readable.

If you dont have anything like I asked installed; I vote for ninjas or ghosts! I'm hoping its a ninja, cause ghosts are already invisible and it lacks any challenge, the ninja however, he is leet if he can type in front of you

Kevin didn't you buy the G110?

If so I wouldn't rule out the keyboard itself. Logitech themselves basically told me they cheaped out when they made them.

Is it wireless or wired?

If it is wireless...
Is anyone else in the area using a wireless keyboard?
Try charging the batteries (if, chargeable) or replace with new ones.

Does it do it in certain apps or all apps?
Are all of what it types real words? Or, does it type jibberish/random characters, too?

Could someone be playing a joke on you?

Re-install your keyboard software/drivers and, if, you have wireless make sure it is in secure connection.
Blow the dust out of it.

If it is wired... you got me.
Try a different keyboard and see if it still does it.

It is the G110, but it worked fine for a few weeks(other than the ghosting)

The keyboard will randomly type in just about every program. I'll try using a different keyboard.

Theres some processes running called "Conhost.exe", and another named "csrss.exe" that I've never seen running before. I'm going to look them up.

Anything weird going on in your house , like lights , tv's that goes on or off by itself?

If you try another Keyboard (wire) & do all the clean up for virus & spyware & you PC still type some words then i would give TAPS a call

Quote from "What is conhost.exe and Why Is It Running?"@ How-To Geek:
Quote:
So What Is It?

The conhost.exe process fixes a fundamental problem in the way previous versions of Windows handled console windows, which broke drag & drop in Vista.

It’s a completely legitimate executable—as long as it’s running from the system32 folder, and is signed by Microsoft. Scanning your computer for viruses is never a bad idea, though.

Wait, What? So Why Do I Need It?

Oh, you wanted more information? I suppose I can oblige with some background information. Essentially, there's a problem with the way the console process works on previous versions of Windows—they are all hosted under the csrss.exe (Client Server Runtime Process) service. This process runs as a system-privileged account.
Check in "Task Manager" under "processes" and, if, DWM.exe, Conhost.exe, or Csrss.exe are running from any where else than your windows system32 directory then you may have a virus or trojan or multiple ones.
Here is a link to a cute little video on the subject: Detect fake conhost.exe, dwm.exe etc

Not saying you do have it, but it is better to be safe.

Possibly, one of suspected culprits:Backdoor:Win32/Cycbot.G or a variant, such as... BKDR_CYCBOT.

Again, not saying you do have anything, but anything is possible.

You can run the files through VirusTotal and see if them and any others are clean or infected.

EDIT:

Forgot to say conhost.exe should not be in the process list, unless, you have a DOS (CMD) window open or running.
Open your process tab in the taskmanager, then open a DOS(CMD) window and you will see the process conhost.exe pop-up from the system32 folder(directory).

I'd open notepad, put the cursur in it, and unplug the keyboard. If it is typing without a keyboard attached, it is definitely software on the computer doing it.

Id try it.

Also what virus scanner are you running?

I run MSE real time and Malwarebytes at demand once a day. TDSSKiller also is something you might wanna try in case its rootkit bound.

See if you can visit http://www.microsoft.com/ or http://www.symantec.com/

If you get rerouted you might have an issue.

Wow this thread has me creeped out... a wired keyboard? I've seen some weird shit with an IBM wireless keyboard and mouse, but never a wired device. Hence, I must subscribe to this thread.

Call TAPS, lol.

I'm running MSE, and it found nothing after 2 full scans and a quick scan. I'll try using malwarebytes, and then unplug my keyboard with notepad open :3

After the scans, nothing was found. I restored my windows to an older state, and so far my keyboard hasn't typed by it's self at all! Let's hope it stays this way. I'm gunna try to find out what caused this.
