theres no real reason for or against having the pins. intel moved them to the socket, AMD left them on the CPU.

no real difference.

I like having pins on the cpu instead of the mobo...but then again it's harder to drop the mobo and bend the pins....and if your heavy heatsink pulls off you wouldn't have to worry about loosing pins...

Well i just started thinking this because some guy yesterday brought his pc in (I work at a computer shop ) and he said it wont boot long story short he curled 3 pins like a derp on his fx-6100 and I have seen this countless times in the past I have never seen pins on a intel mobo bent so i just think its a better design so why not make the better design right? I don't think it would be that hard or make a challenge

Bending pins on a intel motherboard is not that forgiving. I Pins on the CPU are alittle easier to straighten if you are steady enough.

I have also fixed socket pins as well. both are meh.

I wonder if it's electrically better one way than the other? Googling for it might help.

I just had to replace an Intel motherboard for bent pins in the socket. I'd rather have the pins on the CPU as they're fairly easy to straighten.

Intels CPU more expensive than Mobo so lets put the pins on the Mobo. Amds CPU same price as good Mobo so why not keep pins there? Intel seems like it would have more user jamming it in on the socket and bending them...
