SLI GTX560 VS HD6970 benchmarks (21 game tested on 1920x1200 res)
I now continue my SLI GTX560 VS HD6970 benchmarks! Since this is the second part, all the information you need you can find in THIS thread, so read it first!
What has changed? The resolution is now 1920X1200 and there are less games. The rest is the same - test setup, methods and rules. Let's start the test! Crysis Warhead DX10, patched 1.1.1711, CryEngine 2 engine ![]() ![]() Going on higher resolutions makes SLI scaling much better - in fact, now SLI GTX560 beat HD6970, unlike before! Crysis 2 DX11 + high resolution texture pack, patched 1.9, CryEngine 3 engine ![]() ![]() With higher resolutions the difference between GTX560 and HD6970 gets even bigger, despite the fact that HD6970 has twice more RAM and much higher memory bandwidth. SLI scaling is almost 100 %, and only SLI GTX560 setup is playable at all! Stalker Clear Sky DX10, patched 1.5.10, x-ray 1.5 engine ![]() ![]() Just like in 1600x1200, SLI GTX560 tends to beat HD6970 again, and Stalker Clear Sky still remains the most laggy DX10 game i have ever tested. Battlefield Bad Company 2 DX11, unpatched, Frostbite 1.5 engine ![]() ![]() BF BC 2 even unpatched keeps the nice SLI scaling on 16:10, just like in 4:3, and SLI GTX560 beat HD6970 again. Metro 2033 DX11, patched, 4A engine ![]() ![]() Unlike in 1600x1200 where SLI scaling was almost 100 %, SLI GTX560 now is bashing out with HD6970. Looks like the 2 Gb RAM or memory do help the HD6970 this time. Cryostasis DX10, patched 1.1, Atmosphere 4 engine ![]() ![]() Going on higher resolutions makes SLI scaling much better than before in this game! Red Faction Guerrilla DX10, patched 1.02, Geo-Mod 2.0 engine ![]() ![]() Once again we see a similar 100 % SLI scaling! The pumped up resolution has not crippled the cards too much. Deus Ex Human Revolution DX11, patched 1.2.633, Crystal engine ![]() ![]() Even though SLI GTX560 again beat HD6970, the difference is not that great anymore! Aliens vs. Predator DX11, patched, Asura engine ![]() ![]() Once again SLI scaling is nearly 100 % on average, but that still keeps HD6970 quite ahead! FEAR 3 DX11, unpatched, Despair engine ![]() ![]() Nothing really changed here, frames dropped just a little in comparison. Call Of Juarez The Cartel DX11, patched 1.1, Chrome 5 engine ![]() ![]() Same tendencies - single GTX560 beats HD6970, and SLI scaling is very poor. Syndicate DX9, unpatched, Starbreeze engine ![]() ![]() SLI scaling looks improved a lot from 1600x1200 and HD6970 is now equal to single GTX560. Jericho DX9, patched 1.01, Mercury engine ![]() ![]() 110 % SLI scaling so far is the biggest i have seen in any game - nuff said! Necrovision DX10, patched 1.2, Pain engine ![]() ![]() Not much is lost in Necrovision going from 1600x1200 to 1920x1200. Hard Reset DX9, patched, Road Hog engine ![]() ![]() Same picture in Hard Reset - HD6970 is ahead of SLI GTX560, and SLI scaling is poor. Duke Nukem Forever DX11, patched 1.01, Unreal 613 engine ![]() ![]() SLI scaling looks slightly worse compared to 1600x1200 benchies, and HD6970 now can keep up with SLI on average frame rates. Dragon Age 2 DX11 + high resolution texture pack, patched 1.04, Lycium engine ![]() ![]() The picture remains the same - HD6970 stands 50 % above GTX560, but 50 % below SLI GTX560. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood DX10, patched 1.02, Anvil engine ![]() ![]() SLI scaling has increased moderately, but the frame rate has dropped only on single GTX560, not SLI! Lost Planet Extreme Condition DX10, unpatched, MT Framework 1.2 engine ![]() ![]() Everything has decreased proportionally. PT Boats Knights Of The Sea DX10, patched 1.3, Storm 4.0 engine ![]() ![]() Everything has decreased slightly proportionally. Battlestations Pacific DX9, patched 1.2, unknown engine ![]() ![]() On 1600x1200 resolution GTX560 was crushing the HD6970 badly in this NVIDIA biased game, but now it's a close tie, yet SLI continues to be same effective. Interesting to see both sets of benchmarks though it certainly seems like something was up with the 6970 in Crysis 2 at 1920 x 1200 getting only 18 fps average.
