I own 2560 x 1440, images are smaller, how will 4k even be usable?
In any game, etc, everything is smaller and more condensed on 1440, if my understanding is correct 4k would be super tiny...
just curious, any pro's know? |

Some have UI scaling options, others do not, especially older games. In those cases you'll want to run at quarter resolution on a 4K monitor. Ex: 1920x1200 or 1920x1080.
Can you list some of the games you're playing? There may be patches (official or fan-made) that address the issue. |

Depends upon the size of the monitor too.
4K on a 24" screen that can run that resolution is going to be small (given no UI scaling). 4K on an 80" LCD TV, not so much.

In the future support for this will be possible, right now it is far from being mainstream for even the most tech savvy.
UI scaling or small icons are your choices.

all I know is when I play Modern Warfare 3 in 1080p my gun, everything on screen is bigger. in 1440p my gun and everything else is a little smaller, albeit, much better picture. 1440 really is a sweet spot imo, 4k my gun is gonna be so tiny lol

Its obviously going to have to be addressed once this jump to 4k resolution does come into play. Software manufactures will need to allow the image to use more of the pixels, which is where the problem currently lies.
Basically, each icon/image is a set number of pixels. So if you gain a higher resolution screen, ofcourse things are going to look smaller as you have a higher pixel density. So basically until the program allows for higher resolution icons/images this problem will keep occurring. But to be fair even 2560x1600 is not yet a common resolution let alone 4k, so why would software companies bother? its just not feasible yet.

you should try 10 monitor setup at 2560x1440 each = 25600x1440 if you line them up in 1 line but if you will be putting them in 2 sets
1 line: = = = = = = = = = = (these are monitor) 2 sets: = = = = = = = = = = if it's like this it should be in this resolution (12800x2880) someone should correct me on this part as I'm not sure with this. but it would be awesome ^_^ btw just wondering can dual gtx680 sli work on 10/12 monitors? like circling a monitor around you or something, might look weird but really just curious, might try it out if I get some cash for monitors seeing as milk prices won't go up as high as they are now.

Perhaps it's a just a perceived difference because of your viewing distance and/or size of the two monitors? What size are they, and how far away are you from them? It could also be something else, I've never played MW3. Quote:

Make sure to look up more multi-display setups to see how they did it. Some of the configurations are tailored for only a single game.
For better all-around support and an easier setup, could stay with the current limits of Eyefinity or Surround Gaming. Having a 3-across or 5-across plus optional accessory monitor is still pretty ballin' ![]() If raw size is what you're after, don't forget projectors! |

haha yea a bunch of projectors would be pretty sweet. No bezel to get in the way!
@OP, hopefully windows 8, or 9 will be better with DPI scaling due to them being used on tablets and such now, and therefore games as well.

hmm yeah projector sounds good but don't they give bad display if you have ordinary wall or something? like a yellowish white or so

yea you'd probably have to adjust them 1 by 1... could be a PITA haha but in the end it could be worth it. esp if you can just set the settings the same for all of them.
then again the cost of that many projectors would make you think twice

A friend of mine has a 1080 projector and his wall is an off-white. Picture is "good", though just one coat of white would improve it.
Bulb cost may be high depending on how much you use it, though that same friend watches a ton of movies/games and I don't think he's replace it in two years. Paid about $1200 for the projector I believe. That could buy a handful of monitors, but at 100", it's still amazing to watch! Can only imagine two or three of them ![]() I'd love to do something like that, but there's no good walls in my house for it

well even at 1920x1080 resolution on a 100" view from the projector i wouldn't mind paying 1,200$ for an amazing view ^_^ but are there projectors with bigger resolutions? if yes, anyone got any idea?
