Force GT 60GB Write Speeds

Hello,

I've just got myself a corsair force GT 60GB and HOLYMOLY does it make a difference!

However, I put it though its paces on CrystalMark and this is what I got:


Read speeds are great but something is holding back the write speeds. (I only did seq test to show)

Anyone got any idea? I'm on a Z68 chipset with RST installed. Does it matter that I did a quick format before installing windows?

go to device manager, right click the drive and select properties, click the policies tab, make sure the box for "turn off windows write-cache buffer flushing" is checked

Unfortunately it didn't help.

What do other benchmarks say? I wouldn't just rely on one.

AS SSD gives me this:

Maybe it is doing that in CrystalDiskMark because of the default benchmark settings. I had to set the program to (File -> Test Data -> All 0x00, 0Fill) on my 120 GB Force GT in order for the program to show me near the touted speeds.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Although it did not help me instantly it got me to where I needed to be!

I also found out that the C5/C6 states on my motherboard were holding SSDs back. It was not until I saw this that I believed and was shocked:


I thought this would now mess with the clocks and voltages but no it seems that they still back down to 1600Mhz and 1V with the C6 state disabled so I'm not really sure what it does.

0Fill sets CrystalDiskMark to use compressible data instead of incompressible.

If you wish to compare your drive to the advertised speeds then you should use ATTO and IOMeter as they are probably what Corsair used to get the speed of the drive.
