I think it's so widespread these days is in large part due to the ease and privacy with which it can now be consumed. Began with the VCR but the internet really changed everything.

Chemo !@#$ sucks, and I say that in the kindest possible way.
Doctor took me off one of the drugs because it was incapacitating me.
Still pulling shenannigans on the nurses, so my sense of humor is good. They put me in the farthest treatment room for the reception desk because I create too many distractions. rofl
God bless the nurses. They really are "Angels of mercy" and I love them all for it.

Prior to the chemo they give me steroids as an anti-inflammatory agent.
They said they are not anabolics, but after I helped carry in the groceries I now look like this ...
