A Low-Tech Solution to a High Tech Problem - Airepad Laptop Cooler

Airepad LLC recently unveiled a new website for their laptop cooling pad. The Airepad laptop cooling pad is A Low-Tech Solution to a High-Tech Problem. The Airepad provides a lightweight and extremely comfortable shield between your laptop and your legs. It stores easily in your purse or carrying case and weighs only 4 ounces. The laptop cooler is TSA friendly, containing no liquids, jells, or crystals.

The Airepad Laptop cooling pad has a self–inflating air valve that allows the air to enter in to fill the Airepad. When inflated, you simply close the valve and place it on your lap. If you desire the pad to be a bit stiffer than ambient air pressure you can simply blow into the valve to make the cooling pad firmer. It provides a comfortable work platform for laptops up to 16 inches wide.

When you are finished working, the Airepad can be deflated and stored in seconds. Simply open the air-valve and fold the cooling pad into quarters or roll it up, pressing the air out of the pad. Then close the valve to keep the pad deflated.

Airepad LLC's new website allows visitors to purchase the laptop cooler at their convenience 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

To see the Airepad in action, simply visit http://www.airepadlaptopcooler.com.

critical design failure:
this would further suffocate the air intake vents under most laptops, since they require a HARD and FLAT surface to elevate itself to provide a few millimeters of space between the vents and surface. the same reason if u place ur laptop over ur bedsheets, it would overheat within minutes. if you don't believe me just try it.

^ my thought as well. it may have a firm top surface we arent aware of, but it seems like a stopgap at best, that might keep the temps lower for the first few minutes only.

Prevent sterility, but doesn't help your laptop as far as I can see.

There optional felt risers you can get for bottom airflow laptops.
It's also not just an airbag. It's filled with memory foam that gives it a firm(er) surface.

This from the site's FAQ ..

Does the Airepad make my laptop run cooler?
The purpose of the cooling pad for laptops is to protect your legs from the heat generated by the laptop. It does not make your laptop run cooler; it makes your legs run cooler.
Using a 3-ring binder would have the same effect and give you little better typing angle for about $2.
