not really, amd is adapting a new tick tock like policy were late piledriver cores will be better than the early ones in the apu's, so they will release pd in trinity now and keep enhancing it untill they get to the fx chips, so from this point they still have another 4-5 month to work on the cores
trinity=early piledriver
vishera=late piledriver+L3 cache

Lets just wait till Piledriver appears as of the AM3+ Lineup.

That's not how chips are made. The silicon was finalized long time ago. Now it's just validation, validation and more validation all the while they build a stockpile.

typically yes BUT

"x86 cores of Fusion chips will sport "reduced" next-generation micro-architecture (and will fully support previous-gen features and capabilities) in order to cut their development time and reduce their die size. CPUs will come to market several months after APUs and will feature more advanced x86 cores that will support more new instructions and therefore will offer better x86 performance."

http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/dis...itectures.html

meaning while PD was finalized for trinity, they will keep on improving it until its time to start start stockpiling fx chips which i would assume is a month or 2 before release so you are right in a way, just that now they are stockpiling trinities ever since march and the x86 cores in trinity will remain the same, the improvements are only for the fx chips which will have the late piledriver cores which i assume are being enhanced as we speak, as its still too early to start producing next gen fx chips

For the APU, yes. For Pile Driver FX, no. It's too soon for that on the FX chip, however Trinity should already be done, In fact I bet you the CPUs are already done and they're going out to OEMs.

Piledriver FXs are in production at present time at Fab 30/36 in Dresden.

Time it takes between when a blank wafer goes in and silicon is ready takes several weeks. Add to that shipping the silicon around the globe to AMD's packaging plants in China and Malaysia. Chips manufacturing cycle takes months.
