ASUS Kicks Off GTX 670 Launch with DirectCu II TOP Model

ASUS kicked off the launch of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 with a DirectCu II TOP model. Pictured below, ASUS' card utilizes its in-house design DirectCu II double-slot cooling solution, mounted on a custom-design PCB. The cooler utilizes two 90 mm PWM-controlled fans to ventilate an aluminum fin stack, to which heat is transported by nickel-plated copper heat-pipes that make direct contact with the GPU die. According to ASUS, this solution provides 20% better cooling performance than NVIDIA reference design cooler, and is "vastly quieter". The PCB implements ASUS Digi+ VRM, which coupled with its GPUTweak software, provides voltage fine-tuning capabilities to the end user. The TOP variant features core boost clock speeds as high as 1,137 MHz out of the box (vs. 980 MHz reference), 1,110 MHz core base (vs. 915 MHz reference). ASUS also has a standard model of the GTX 670 DirectCu II, which sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 915 MHz (core, base), 980 (core, boost), and 6.00 GHz memory. The ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectCu II (standard) is priced at US $399, while the ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectCu II TOP goes for $419.

The review of this card is great.
This card is too good to be true!
Sadly, it is still too expensive for me...

I really hope Asus (or Nvidia) will achieve the same levels performance/noise in their 650/660 range (or whatever they will be called...).

Crap they increased the fan blades from 9 to 11 from the GTX680 and moved the heat pipes external, wonder if this HSF is not a better solution than before.

Thanks for the magic btarunr!

I've dated two women from India, one while in med school named Shuba, gorgeous and brilliant, and one recently named Nelum petite and vapor hot! So much fun!

You must have an amazing time in Hyderabad, beautiful women, nothing better...

F*** Yeah!!!!!!!!! That's the one; now i'll take 2 of these free of charge, thank you.

Seriously though, you just gotta love these DirectCU II series, TOP especially. Only 2 things missing are Carmageddon: Reincarnation & Crysis 3 to test on it; other than that i'll wait when the card will be @ the 399$ range & i'm a happy camper. Hope HX1000 PSU i have will suffice to power pair of these. Thanx bta.

Judging from the front/mounting plate (or whatever it's called), it appears to be dual (2) slot.

Why even bother with the non-TOP version? it's only a $20 difference.

Does anyone else get the feeling the 670's are about $150 overpriced and its only that fact the amd cards had so little improvement over the last gen, nvidia can quite easily get away with classing this as a flagship card.

^SLI, that's the whole idea behind it. As much as i hate the moniker (yeah, i do hate this moniker, well atleast an NV's implementation/PR of it lol) when it comes down to this technology, you get can o' whoop ass performance with pair of these; definitelly way more bang for a buck compared to either GTX 680 or 690. Hardly justifies buying one GTX 690; unjustified when buying pair - unless you want excessive performance in latest & future titles &/or got a f***load of cash; or both. Check out the GTX 670 SLI review here - you'll see what you get with pair of these.

P.S. Will actually make me buy Dell UltraSharp 30" LCD for these - PC store near me got this monitor after a years i've being waiting for it to arrive to Israel.
