ATI list specs and prices of first six X2800 cards

ATI has listed some of its first DirectX 10 offerings with specs and prices. Topping the list is the X2800XTX, with a 750 MHz core clock and a Gigabyte of GDDR4 running at 2.2 GHz on a 512 bit bus. Like Nvidia's new cards, it features 128 shaders and an 80nm architecture. The card will initially be going for 600 USD. A dual card christened the X2800XTX2 has also been announced, and is said to be running two 575MHz cores and a Gigabyte of GDDR4 at 2GHz. However, due to the nature of the design, the memory bus has been cut back to 256 bits, rather than 512, and it will only feature 96 shaders. A 512 Megabyte version of the single XTX running the same clocks will also be available for 550 USD.

The next card in line is the X2800XT. Unfortunately this card is slated to run GDDR3 and sports less impressive speeds. The core will run at 600 MHz, and the 512 MBs of memory at 1.8 GHz. It will also only run on a 256 bit bus, with 96 shaders. However, the card will sell for 500 USD, one hundred less than the flagship XTX.

Also unveiled was the X2800XL, listed at 400 USD with 512 Megabytes of GDDR3 and 96 shaders. And last but not least is the X2800GTO, selling for 300 USD and sporting 256MB of 256-bit GDDR3 with 96 shaders as well. All in all, its a formidable lineup, and hopefully one that will help to bring the price of DirectX 10 gameplay down to a reasonable level for most gamers.

600 USD = 300 GBP @ the moment!

I think I might just be getting that X2800XTX before long (with a new PSU ofcourse)

come on theres every chance it will be in the £400 area anyway, ive seen it countless times as im sure you have, and i should know aswell im in the uk and it sux tbh

to say its attitudes like that what get on your wick simply for saying chances are we gonna get screwed on the prices like we ALWAYS do is a bit harsh imo but hey each to there own

p.s probably will retail for around £400 we always pay more than the yanks/europe but for those of us who can get wholesale? who knows (just tell me where lol)

I have to admit it... i really do want one.... possibly 2 in crossfire . I think i'll probably get the GTO verisons though and just pair up 2 as time goes on. Still godly powerful though.

I'm not going to go running to the x2800xtx until I see some real world benchmarks FIRST

Not after I order it
Not after I install it
Not after I pay the credit call bill

It's performance better equal it's power consumption or it's a large waste of time investing in one! For example:
-at 200+watt power consumption, I better get more then 10 FPS
-at 200+watt power consumption, I better get enriched features
-It better be cooler with the HSF provided then previous generation

Beautiful. I knew ATI would have something to counter Nvidia's offering. Better late than never and no Vista WHQL driver problems either. I take it these should spar nicely with the 8800GTX and for that mater, the 8900GTX as well. And dont go trying to convince me about the 160 shaders either...

Right as soon as I start seeing cases that resemble ovens more than computer cases .
