Sorry Kreij, I'll be having a party of my own on the other side of the country at the same time. A house(apartment really)warming party.
We can set up a telepresence solution though, so it'll be fine

Hey Kreij.....I know you don't know me , since I'm pretty new here to TPU ( love this place BTW! ) .....and I just came across your thread. I just wanted to give you some positive stuff and tell you to stay strong.
I myself have had many hospital stays over my life. I went through about 8 - 10 years of watching my little brother fight Leukemia before he finally stayed in remission. Some of the worst years of my life seeing my little brother go through that. He repaid all those hospital visits when I was the one laid up from bad motocross wrecks. The worse one being in 2005 and 16 days in Emanuel hospital up here in Portland. 2 punctured lungs, lost finger and about 30 broken bones left me in a mess. And even that doesn't compare to what you and my little brother have had to go through. So from one stranger to another.....take care of yourself man and never take one day for granted. You'll be back to normal before you know it. Hell....if an older dude like myself can almost die from doing the sport I love so much......then come back to it! ( started riding again about a year ago ) .....then I'm sure you will kick the living crap out of that cancer!! Good luck man!

Kreij- if this could make you feel a lil better- I flipped my truck 6 times 2 nights ago and walked away from it with a bruised nose and cuts.

Keeping my fingers for ya.
I also have a nasty bugger with me. Got diagnosed with chronic HBV and just received my results for virus levels in serum and unfortunately they are very high. Mid June I'm going to a hospital so they can qualify me for interferon treatment. Just hoping now that I didn't develop liver cancer already ![]() I strongly suggest anybody not vaccinated for HBV to do test for it and get vaccinated. Bastard is very sneaky as there are absolutely 0 symptoms. I found out just because I had some test's done for me and my wife because of recurrent miscarriages.

Final Update :
After 3 months of treatment, the side effects got so bad that the Oncologist stopped the chemo. I feel a lot better now as it wears off. They are in the process of running trials to see if doing 6 months has any significant statistical difference for reoccurrance or death over time than 3 months. They used to do 12 months but found that there was no real difference in the outcome than with only 6 months. It's all a game of statistics as everyone is different and fighting cancer with drugs is still a guessing game. I just want to personally thank all of you guys/gals for being so supportive and being a part of helping me get through this whole ordeal. TPU has some of the finest people I've ever met and don't let anyone tell you any differently. I've gained a great deal of knowledge on the whole cancer subject, so if anyone has questions or simply wants support or reassurace just send me a PM and I will always reply. Thank you everyone, and God bless you all.

Thanks for the update, K. This is all kinda heart breaking to be honest, but you're a fighter and I think you'll beat it.
You're the awesomest out of the lot of us and that's a fact. I think that if you want it, you should be promoted to TPU supermod for being such a diamond and always having time for others, including all the unsung hero support you give behind the scenes in PMs and emails to the members. You've certainly earned it, if anyone has.

I hope I don't have to, but I might be reaching out to you soon for some advise. I'm getting myself checked out for something that is a bit scary.

Thanks for the update, Special K. Still thinking of you here, and looking forward to next year's anniversary update to say you're still "free". Can't help but note, just like so many here, how much your attitude thru this has been a light. Not the flickering type that causes seizures, either. Well, I hope that's not what caused those, anyway.... maybe I should get that checked out.....

Doesn't matter what happens to me.
What matters is that my posts and attitude make people realize that we are all in this world together and we must help each other or we're of no value to anyone.

Why did you stop the treatments man? My 66 year old dad hits them monthly, smokes a joint and waits for the next treatment. I know they get bad but he would have said "F#ck it" if they were too bad.

@TMM : Chemo affect everyone differently. Some poeple tolerate it well or reasonably well, some do not. It's at that point when you must decide if giving up your life is worth the price of saving it.
