Sapphire Combines Dual-X Cooling with Radeon HD 7950
Sapphire launched a new graphics card that combines the Dual-X cooling solution, which was first featured on a high-end Radeon HD 7970 graphics card, with the more affordable Radeon HD 7950. The company launched two models, the Sapphire HD 7950 Dual-X OC, and a base model. The Dual-X OC is shown with a black-colored PCB, and GPU clock speed of 950 MHz with 5.00 GHz effective GDDR5 memory; whereas the base model utilizes a more cost-effective blue-colored PCB, and sticks to 810 MHz core with 5.00 GHz memory clock speeds. Pricing and availability information is awaited.

Dear sapphire,
![]() Where is the god damned TOXIC and ATOMIC editions of the HD7900 cards?! Are you waiting like you did with the HD6970 Dual-fan to HD7970's launch day? for realz? This card, with all the respect, does not have any significant improvement over the original dual-fan design of the HD7950.

Lately I started finding Sapphire cards line up a bit confusing. They produce so many different versions of each card without always having any really feasible difference between some of them.

All you need to know is if the card is reference or non-reference, unlocked voltage means you can tweak them for a better overclock

Knowing Sapphire you can assume that the Blue card will use another controller [not the CHiL 8228] so there will be limited voltage control on this model

This is the only HD7950 that I know of that has 1x6pin + 1x8pin power connector.
Looking all over for photos of PCB but can't find any. If PCB is like the HD7970 dual X model it will have a extra VRM than any of the other reference HD79XX cards. |
