ps these "speculations" are not new .. We’ve been seeing the same numbers for @ a couple months. I think with only 2 weeks away from "hopeful, speculated" launch they can hold a little weight at this point. lolz Here's the ORB review which has specs for all 600 GPU it looks like and a picture of the GTX 660 TI PCB, which "could be" faked since no shroud or markings.. http://www.obr-hardware.com/2012/04/...-ti-specs.html I wouldn't discount it on face alone just because of "speculation" in the link title. lol Everything is speculation till release no matter how true it may be. Nobody wants’ to report the wrong info so it's a C.Y.A. maneuver... horah ? lol UPDATE: more links>> http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-p...670/15728.html yet another site confirming/ "speculating" same figures. What's that make 4 now? (if you count the German review I posted in another thread > http://www.hardwareluxx.de/index.php...n-planung.html) Might want google translator for that one. ... that's what I get for not reading and skimming lol .. good post! And crysis is coming out with something new maybe I heard ? PS. I never played crysis because of the Fps hog that it is but amazing <60 fps is still the ultra ceiling at 1920x1080 on that game after all this time. Judging by the speculated specs this should be no less than $300 so stop dreaming.

The 660 Ti is showing reports between $249.00 (recent speculations) and $319.00 (older ones) so do some better reading! lolz See my link below ![]() Quote from review "GeForce GTX 660 would be a different bird, with no less than whole GPC (Graphics Processing Cluster) disabled , resulting with 1152 CUDA codes. Memory bus would be cut to 192-bit, meaning again - the odd combination of either 768MB or 1.5GB. Given that it's 2012, we don't see anyone launching a product with 768MB of video memory. This part should go for $199-249, targeting AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (Pitcairn GPUs)." http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-p...670/15728.html Last edited by RigRebel; May 14, 2012 at 05:32 PM. |

$250 doesnt make sense in the current pricing scheme for a card that has 75% of the gtx680 processing power. These rumours comes probably from the same guys that said the gtx 670 will be $350. Sub $300 market is reserved for gk 106 whenever that comes. |

It makes perfect sense for them to capture more of the market. PS this quote comes from the latest GTX 670 review from Anandtech: "Like its predecessors, GTX 670 will fill in the obligatory role as a cheaper, slower, and less power-hungry version of NVIDIA’s leading video card." http://www.anandtech.com/show/5818/n...ew-feat-evga/1 And the GTX 660 will be even further in the less is more direction. PSS... i was planing on $300 for a 448 core classified ultra anyways so $300 for the 660 TI will not be a boo whoo moment for me I'm sure. ![]() PSss... May 10th has come and went so jokes on me guess OCUK was correct. bummer

They were really quiet about the release! Four days after the 10th and where are they?

I think this thread has outlived its purpose when insults start flying everywhere.
Still looking forward to the 660Ti, positioning wise it looks like 570-580 levels depending on how aggressive they are, and what they are after. Price wise it looks like its going to compete against the 7870, since that Nvidia has nothing in that segment other than the soon going to be discontinued 580. Price? anywhere from $300 to about $370, again depending on what they are targeting. In short, you don't need to be a genius or have inside information once you know the performance and price of their top 2 cards, or indeed any 2 cards in the mid-high range. |

I still think they are having yield issues. Makes sense with the whole "trickle release" of the 6 series.

[Post edited because I can't read
]Anyhoo, I wonder if NV will learn and make the 660 performance far away from the 670 to avoiding hurting sales?

660TI-1.5GB to 680 is like GTX460-768 to GTX560TI. only The TI was named x80 this time around and for that purpose heavily overvolted by 20%^2 and overclockerd 20% at the cost of 72% higher power consumption, totally insane. Hope that 660 remains at 1Ghz/1Volt/100W levels 72% of the 680.

It's absolutely the opposite what is happening, so yields are good and there's no rush for them to purportedly cripple good chips in order to satisfy the lower price points. Quote:
Quote:
I speculated that such GK106 may have 6 SMX (1152 SP) and 192 bit, exactly like the supposedly crippled GK104. But instead of arranging them like in GK104, the SMX's would be arranged like in GK110, so it would be 2 blocks instead of the 4 in GK104. Geometry output would be half as much as GK104, but still more than GTX580 or HD7970, so no problem at all. ![]() GK110 has 5 GPC. "My GK106" would have 2. I even think that the confusion about 660 specs comes from this. Rumors state either 1152 SP or 1344 SP, and IMO this late in the game there should be no confusion about that. So IMO normal 660 and 660 Ti would be based on "my GK106", and there might be a 1344 SP 660 Ti, in the same fashion as there is a 560 Ti based on GF100. |
