That nvidia will recall? or the fact that the cards degrade quickly with usage?

Apparently you didnt read Potential. Various websites are picking up the follow-up to the Nvidia representative which he didnt comment on. Read more into the articles.

Oh I read potential, but its not there... your last paragraph says they are not doing it. Sounds like potential to none, and potential ran out the door, no?

@ Nvidia - Degredation may be real, who knows (I doubt it, Nvidia says its not), but that article, and many others state, from the horse's mouth, no recalls. No does not mean potential... at least it never did in college with my women...haha!

Another link from within yours, that I saw a couple hours ago, saying its not happening: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/graphic...gradation.html

Quote:
Nvidia Corp. on Monday denied plans to recall GeForce GTX products based on the GK104 graphics processing units due to rumoured eventual performance degradation. The company claims that the rumours are incorrect and the graphics products work fine.

"There is no truth to this," said Bryan Del Rizzo, a spokesman for Nvidia.
EDIT: We will see if Nvidia is bullshitting...but until then, they said "NO". If they renege, my mouth is big enough to hold my foot!!!

This Monday:
"There is no truth to this," said Bryan Del Rizzo, a spokesman for Nvidia.

A while ago:
“Honestly, we expected more from our competitor’s new architecture,” an unnamed official Nvidia initiative told NordicHardware web-site.

degradation happens with any piece of hardware, its just the rate at which is happens is the issue, and if it happens abnormally fast then its a design issue.

This article/rumor is completely bunk. I have no idea why people give in and spread rumors like this. Misinformation accomplishes absolutely nothing.

to be fair, some company could get a short term gain from such Bs rumours ,though i dont like to think of companies doing such sullieing it happens..
fingers crossed Nv have this in hand ie they will have data on wear etc as im sure they will have ongoing QA and longevity testing etc so if they need to surely they could prove it.

Nvidia Denies Plans to Recall GeForce GTX 600 Due to Performance Degradation.

Quote from article posted 05/21/2012 12:08 PM:

The official for the company declined to provide any further details or colour to the information published earlier on Monday.
The thread title should read: "(FUD) Nvidia Potential Kepler Recall - This rumor denied by NVidia"

FUD = Fear, uncertainty and doubt is "generally a strategic attempt to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information."

Well if you were Nvidia you could have just addressed both the questions.

Instead he fan the flames by replying to the Recall as un-true but then had no comment on the degradation issue to Kepler. Instead he just made a braud statement that all hardware degradates.

I could have just said, if you use your hardware it wont be as new. Sing me up for the next Nvidia rep job.

So according to this rep the Adaptive V-Sync and V-Sync is as it should be. I doubt many Nvidia Kepler consumers think there hardware is working fine.

If it turns out to be true or not. Time will tell but it just adds one more thing to how Kepler has been handeled.

What does Vsync have to do with recalls? That is completely separate AFAIK? (sorry, didnt drill down more than 3 levels on your links). I didnt mean to sound so harsh in my replies, but this was bunked before you even posted it.. I, like erocker, hate FUD/misinformation/bullshit and anyone flying a plane and dropping flyers (propoganda) about it.

@ PPD question - It depends on the WU, but around 25k PPD if left alone. 580 level until they come out with a better core for it.

Not saying Adaptive V-Sync or V-Sync has a direct corrilation with the supposed recall. At the same time that statement from the rep was issued on Monday. Nvidia has been testing the V-Sync issue for awhile now. It just seams contradictory.
On one hand it's said to be fine while on the other your testing to resolve issues that were not caught on launch be it hardware or software based. Its yet to be determined.

I get why a company rep wouldnt want to draw unwanted attention to an already troubled roll-out of a product line since there still 3 product left to roll-out. I get that.

Just seams fishy. Almost like Bahgdad bob

No, quit trying to troll... And, taking the statements out of context.
Anyone with a lick of sense knows they were addressing the rumors referred to in the article.

This thread is useless, until there is definitive prove of a problem the rumors insinuate.

I recall, in one of the/your links that it said 'graphics products work fine'. I took that to mean performance degradation would not occur.

Alas, wasting precious electrons on this non issue. Is there a delete thread button handy?

Wow, Did you read it.

He addressed the Recall issues. He had no comment on the degradation. He made a blanked statement about degredation.

Try reading. I'll simplify it for you. since you have rage going on

TSMC source - Nvidia having issue with degredation and might issue a recall

Nvidia rep - No thats not true. Everything is fine

Media to Nvidia rep - Kepler having degratation issues

Nvidia rep - No comment

Well, it was probably the first they heard about it and they needed to see if this was true. You are a douche and we know you love ATI and honestly some of us are better than you because we have more going on with our lives than being haters.

I don't care about what you do with your sorry life and honestly I don't really care about Nvidia or ATI, I use whatever I need at the given moment.

Stop being a douche and realize that your precious ATI doesn't matter, look at the bigger picture and understand that people are starving in the world and you get all excited for a company that doesn't really care about you. Life isn't all about you or life isn't all about ATI and there are far more important matters in the world.

When I read your posts, all I see is some stupid fanboy crap that nobody seems to care about but you. At the end of the day people live and love and then they die, it's a natural progression and what you care for now is meaningless.

This is the first time I've heard of "pnosker.com". Is he a Demerjian disciple?

LOL, apparently he is.

I find the this article very weird, when it was established a long time ago by several retailers that the reason behind the "shortage" (in North America at least) for Kepler is that there's significantly more demand for them than the 7950/7970.

Sorry for the rant guys. I am 44 this year and we used to argue about the most stupid things in FidoNet (before the Internet) and on computer BBSes and all of that typing was a waste of time and stupid. None of that even made any difference and fanboys didn't do anything but waste time. My computer is better than your computer is the new my dad can beat up your dad and it's just immature and silly and a waste of time. Just like the green team vs the read team.
