A couple of helpful utilities that are free...
These sites check clean & the files checked clean.
I don't run sh*t without checking them first and you shouldn't either.
I have run and checked these running under Windows 7 x64 on my system in my specs and have had no crashes or problems, yet.
Hope not to have any, however, I have not explored every nook and cranny in all of these apps.

First off, there is this diddy that will put your bios beep codes at your fingertips.
It has been posted here before and it has been updated by Datum.

Datum recently acquired Rizone, so, if you are familiar with Rizone software then you notice that you will be redirected to Datum now.
Rizone, also, had a piece of software called Rizone Internet Repair, which, is not on the Datum site, as of yet, but can still be had at the likes of CNET.

Second, we have WELT (Windows Error Lookup Tool) from Gunners' Software.

Quote from there site:
Simple enough, windows will display a value in either Decimal or Hex for Win32, HRESULT, NTSTATUS and STOP error codes (For the Developer, this can be the return value of an API call or from GetLastError). Type in an error code and WELT will display the Facility, Status, Code, Define, and Description for the error.

These two tools/utilities I found to be of possible use in troubleshooting, along with other sources on the web.

There are others that are as good or maybe better, either way, if you find 'em - share 'em.
Post any others you know of. I like trying good software... especially free or free to use!:)

EDIT 5/28/2012:

UPDATED WELT (Windows Error Lookup Tool) to version 3.0.5

And, Datum (prev. Rizone) has updated and added the free to use, portable, and useful tool to their website > Complete Internet Repair
Version:1.3.1.1315
Updated 5/27/2012

Complete Internet Repair is a portable troubleshooting tool that can fix many common Windows networking and internet-related issues.

And, for you people using firefox and having a large chuck of memory being taken by so-called, memory leaks... (Now, I say so-called, because, I have read about it, but, I do not use firefox, so I can't speak to it); you can try Firemin.

Firemin download page

Here is a nice web site, if, you ever need to find a default router password > RouterPasswords.com

Edit: Added from Frick.

Two small programs from Microsoft I've found really handy (I've posted them in the old thread but as you said it's a bit deadish):

Mouse without borders.
- Software KVM, use one set of mouse/keyboard to control several PC's. Includes copy/paste between systems. Works like a charm.

Synctoy - Syncs files between browsable paths, so you can sync between systems. Works like a pro too, easy to set up and use etc.

And, before that, there was the thread by MrSeanKon > Must Have Programs and Links for Overclockers!

They all seem to boom and be forgotten... However, I have no problem if someone with the power to edit the threads, adding the software I posted to them.

UPDATED WELT (Windows Error Lookup Tool) to version 3.0.5

Added Complete Internet repair, Firemin and Router Passsword site to op.
