Weird design. And 2x small 60mm fans. Not too loud, but anyways i pass by.

Not bad, but I have to wonder at this unit's longevity with Chinese caps.

*edit*

Would've liked to see noise measurements on this unit when run at full power, esp. compared to more traditional units that use a single 120mm/140mm fan.

Tbh if I needed a really silent at low loads PSU I'd buy one of the hybrid units that operate fanless until 20% load.

Thank you for the review, crmaris.
Do you think recapping this unit with higher quality components would improve it's reliability?

I am not a recapping fan since all elecs have a specific ESR and if you mess with it (change it with recapping) then things can go really bad. The manufacturer built, tested and tuned this unit with the specific caps so it is not the best idea to mess with them.

I was already guessing about this possibility, if we increase the efficiency, it is not necessary anymore a huge amount of airflow to cool down the heatsink and therefore smaller low RPM fans can do the job. May be in the future we will see again the PSU made with 80mm fans. The problem with the previous "noisy" 80mm fans, was because the crcuit of older 80mm fans was made cheap without capacitors, this lack of capacitors within the fans develop a buzzing noise and on top of that the blades of 80mm fans were made with high pitch angle which increase the noise made by the fast spinning blades
