Problem between my ISP and the rest of the world?

I've been experiencing some net issues lately. I recently started a livestream channel with some friends, and when I watch them stream it's really laggy for me. This prompted me to do some speed tests, and they look like, well, this...

Supposed to be getting 10 down, 2 up. It doesn't matter if I test connected directly to the modem (tried it on 2 different machines) or through the router, I still get crap speeds. Then I test to armstrong's own speed test server and it looks great... better than what I'm supposed to be getting, and steady speed, download locked around 11mbit, upload bouncing around between 3.5 and 4mbit.

So, when I test to my ISP's speedtest server, my speed is great... but as soon as I get out in the world testing around at different servers on speedtest.net, or watch some live streams, I get some pretty serious lag. I guess I can assume my problem here is somewhere between my ISP and the rest of the world, and not between me and my ISP (a modem going bad, a connection going bad somewhere... that sort of thing). What can I do about this?

Not alot you can do but complain to your ISP.

Run some tracert to the ip you are tring to connect to and send them in.

I dunno what the tech support is like at your ISP, but if it's poor, they'll simply look at the internal test that you ran and insist that everything is ok.

If they pull that stunt on you, then leave them for sure.

They have a bad link from their system to the whomever is providing their "pipe" so to speak.

It could also be that they've outsold their bandwidth and have too many people using their internet.

Or they just have you capped past a certain point. (A lot of ISPs are guilty of this one.)

I just wanted to show off xD

All in all, tell your isp to check your line. If you using twister pair in your street sometimes water can affect the speeds and also if they changed the exchange and it's further from your house it can also explain the slower speeds. Best to ring up your ip and suss it out.
