I gotta agree with you, in my time knowing Wizz I've never known him to give something a 10/10 haha

Its only 10 bucks, I'd say its absolutely worth it. Clocked about 100mhz higher I think too.

If it was me I wouldn't just because the normal version has free shipping. Your end result will turn out to be the same any way as they will both oc to around 1100base. So you save$17ish

"Cherry picked" TOP or non-TOP, it's still the same chip lottery IMO.

I bought the non-TOP. Great card, haven't OC'd it yet as all games I've tried max out with >60fps on my 22"1680x1050 @ stock clocks. But if I get the time I could try some OC later today and post back some results, and see if I can get as high as Wizz TOP model did.

Your card should clock some where in this range most all 670 do this.
Thats why I say save your money.

ASUS doesn't put you through a chip "lottery" like Giga. They always use higher binned chips for the OCed (TOP) models, and lower binned chips for the regular models. The "cherry picking" as you call it, only applies to TOP cards.

THey are not even binning chips right now. Im pretty sure they are just using the average chips for the non top cards and the cherry ones that they get for the TOP models.

Your two sentences are contradicting one another.

Nope. Binning would be like you stated. They take the best chips and put them in the higher end models such as the TOP. The not so great chips go into the basic models.

Yeah, I wish they could take crappy chips and make them better. We'd all get good overclockers.
