Upgrade Motherboard & CPU

Hi all

I am looking to change my PC motherboard and CPU. I was looking for AMD FX-8120 but I am not sure from this product "FX-8120"

At this time I am very interest about this :

AMD PHENOM II X6 1045T

Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P

I have 2 questions

1- Is that good deal ? I mean CPU with that motherboard?

2- Is that motherboard compatible with my case

my PC HP pro 3010 MT
motherboard :2A94h
CPU : E7500

by the way AMD PHENOM II X6 1045T has almost same price for AMD FX 8120

Thank you for help.

If you have a nice deal on the 8120 go with it, itīs a nice CPU and with a nice cooler you get that "baby" to 4.5 - 4.7 very easy.

And lot of people will star saying that the 2500k/2600k or even IvyB you perform better, and itīs a bit true.
It all depends on the GPU "power" that you have.

Take a look at this and make your own conclusion:

What's the main purpose of the PC? Internet, Office, HD playback, gaming or some serious CPU intensive stuff?

no I am not CPU overclocking . I don't know how to do that.
I think it's more complex than overclock GPU

AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core has good Value in Benchmark

but when I see this video I am shocked : AMD FX 8120

my E7500 it's need 65w

But AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core need 125w , That approximately 2 of E7500

Also there is Eight-Core. I don't know if there program or games run in that Eight Core.

Also this CPU need Motherboard Support Maximum Processor Wattage 145w, Because I hear some people said on 125 crash.

So I think this CPU eat electricity too much, that mean get heat too much

For gaming and works.

I want good CPU for future, I mean has low electricity with good performance

AMD FX-8120 Eight around 169$, + I found M5 A97 EVO Motherboard around 120$ . So all = 289$

Also, I found AMD FX 6100 Six Core 3 + Asus M5A78L-M LX PLUS Motherboard around 200$

Here's a slightly better combo option for gaming for $230;
Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, L...

Games sadly aren't heavily multithreaded yet, and you still have some extra cores for the future and for multitasking.
