How does the "report post" function work?

So I was wondering about that. Is the report sent to a randomly chosen mod or is it sent to a shared inbox or something?

I'm just curious. Also I smell a possibility to misuse it as a way to write hilarious PMs to mods.

Reported posts are sent to the Moderator Lounge as it's own thread where all moderators can see it. If you want to PM a mod, send a PM.

When you tick the report post button this appears underneath the text box:
