The Time has come

Hello tpu forum, its been a while since I've been here, but it also has been a while since I built a new pc. When I bought my Deneb back in January of 09 I also purchased a kick ass Xigmatek S1284 HDT cooler, which at the time was highly recommended by many people here. Unfortunately for me the cooler was way too tall for my case, so it never got any use.

Now, with the (disappointing)release of the Bulldozer, I plan on building a new rig and plan on using the S1284 to do some mild overclocking, seeing as the Bulldozer is a beastly overclocker. All I need to do is find a case that is wide enough to house this beast, I'm currently eyeing up the CM HAF 932 after reading that the side fan of the Antec P193 would get in the way. But what do you guys think? Price is the least of my concern, as I'm going balls out with this build.

Corsair 800D DO IT!

Jokes aside, 932 is a good case. The only problem seems to be excessive dust but that is easily solved by a wipe down every few months.

I'm digging the Corsair 800D, certainly looks like a worthy case. I never would have thought I would have more trouble finding a case than a worthy motherboard >.>

Real man uses no cases

No, don't get the 800D unless you are watercooling. Air cooling on that case is very average, you are better off with the HAF or 600T

The problem with that black is that is attracts dust like crazy. I would go with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146074

The white body can have a substantial layer of dust, without overtly showing it. I've run my hand all along mine (pure white, no flair unfortunately), and brought back a substantial dust bunny without the thing looking dusty at all.

My friend's black case is another story. 3 weeks, and the thing is visibly grayed.

Edit:
By the way, EATX board currently in the phantom. A little bit cramped near the PSU, but not bad at all. The cable routing cut-outs make air flow much easier to maintain. My only apprehension is that NZXT has a rather bad history of forgetting a few things. On the other hand, they have always made good on replacements when you contact them. I'd recommend it, so obviously the issues are outweighed by the awesome.

I had the haf 912, and it was great except the dust. I almost got the switch 810. Then ended up getting a corair 550d. Its awesome. Silence oriented if you want it to be, or open up the vents and get some good fans in there in you have great air cooling.

I got the HAF 912 with 2x200mm fans , 1x120mm , 1x140mm & Scythe mugen B as for CPU cooling (Big Cooler) it fits with room to spare everything runs pretty much quiet with a good air flow

So you'll be alright with the HAF 932 but the question is do you really need a full tower?
If like most of us you got only 1 DVD burner & 1-3 HDD's a mid tower is more then enough & cost less then a full tower

I couldn't say it any better. I had a similar setup of fans too. I do much prefer my 550d though. I still have the haf 912 as a spare

I figured i'd go with the full tower because i have the space, and the mid tower i have right now used to cost more than any of the relevant full towers mentioned thus far($180+). I wanna go with a full tower just in case(no pun intended), because as it stands, i had to remove one of my hdd cages to comfortably plug in power to my video card, and if the card im grabbing(7970) is going to be ~12.5 inches(2.5 longer than my 4870) i want to have the extra space, also having a larger case makes whatever amount of cables i have lying around in it look like less of a mess.

You can stop looking, you dont wanna end up with a bunch of cases yourself, lol, I figured id go with the white Phantom, I just really like the style of it, its a change of pace from the gunmetal p182 and the black BMW-ish looking case downstairs. Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions.

If you live near a MicroCenter, you can get a Switch 810 for $149 right now... It's through June 16th, I believe; pretty sweet offer, methinks!

If you like the Switch but DON'T live near a Microcenter, PM me and maybe I'd be able to grab one for you and send it to you, depending on shipping costs.
